Large metal creaks accompanied the roars of many animalistic monsters - Savage creatures, Ettins, Giants, and many a monster yet to be titled. From what he could tell these beings were here simply because this is where their race ended up when they died. In some kind of prison, the spirits manifesting themselves and collecting over the millennia. a red portal guarded by a wyrm as large as the Virens Forest itself the only entrance previous to the fall of Rhylana, the fire goddess, stood at the end of the long cavern. Now a second portal had been opened. the one Xallithelid had gone into, The mountain tribes of men and orc slaves to him, warriors of body but pawns of mind.

Xallithelid's force was matched head on by giantkin and dragon, beast and demon. A single lightning bolt shot out from his hand, felling a Manticore that was diving upon a group of goblins, just to have the charred corpse along with the goblins be eaten by a massive, twenty foot wide magma toad. A massive burst of arrows coming from the other hand filled a giant's chest, just to have it fall upon the line of orcs it was going towards. A gout of flame flew past his head and knocked into a trio of goblins, melting them into boiling stone and flesh. All the while the massive chains that dotted the cavern were holding up something, he didnt know what, were creaking.

Cedric was wandering around the depths and suddenly, he heard sounds of iron clanking against one another, and thunderous lightning and roars. He ceased his whistling, readied his crossbow if the battle were to come near him. He looked around, and saw a humanoid creature, with a face of a squid, similar in looks to an eldritch being, Aiming his crossbow, he put his finger on the trigger and prepared to fire, then suddenly, he heard a roar behind him that almost propelled him closer towards the battle.

"Hi, how are you?" Cedric said to the squid man.

Cedric stood back up and watched where the roar had come from, expecting a ferocious beast to emerge.

Hagar walked quietly along through the dimly lit caverns. He had come down into the depths to meditate, as well as to get some needed combat practice. He had been looking for the right spot to stop and meditate when he began hearing noises coming from somewhere nearby. The shaman was now rushing towards the noises, curious to see what was going on.

As Hagar ran along he spotted a man aiming a crossbow at some squid-like being. He yelled over to the man who, for some odd reason, was speaking to the creature he was aiming at. "Hate to intrude in your conversation" Hagar yelled out, "but we should make our way to those noises. It sounds like there is a fierce battle going on, and someone might be in danger." Hagar took off running towards the noises once more, not even bothering to look back to see if the man was following him. He focused his energy as he ran and his shape changed to that of a fearsome wolf. Hagar loved taking the form of the wolf, his mighty spirit animal. The feeling of running along on four paws was amazing, and he always felt so free when he was in this form.

Hagar ran around a corner and beheld a mighty battle taking place before his eyes. There was a small army combatting the denizens of the depth, and the army was holding their own, much to Hagar's surprise. Although he knew nothing of this gathering of orcs and men, he decided to help them none the less. The shaman spotted a large bat, easily the size of an eagle, flying towards one of the orcs. Hagar crouched down low, readied his muscles, and pounced at the winged beast. The shaman grabbed the bat by the wing with his canine teeth, and quickly to it to the ground before ending its life with one mighty bite around the beast's head. As the creatures blood pooled around Hagar's paws he examined the battle around him. He spotted one man in the center of all the combat who was spouting spells and arrows from his hands. Hagar ran to the man's side before shifting back to human shape and readying his axes. "I don't know why you're fighting this battle stranger" Hagar stated to the man "but I'm here to assist you and your comrades."

Aerei had been watching this strange man for quite a while. Only by pulling up his white cloak and keeping his head down did he manage to get into the Umbra, but even then was he met with looks of suspicion. It was when he saw the group did he feel they were far different than any of the shifty-eyed denizens here. His curiosity got the better of him, and now he was several yards from Hagar, trying his hardest to keep out of eyesight. He did not know what was happening, but the sounds of chaos and battle raged up ahead. Steeling his will, Aerei pulled down his hood and drew his rapier before charging into battle, using his free hand to fire off a bolt of divine energy into the crowd.
