A heavy splash followed by a low screech ripped through the ambient roar of rain. It was dark, night utterly pitch black with the falling rain, yet the red-hot glow of flames illuminated a rather intensive scene. A heavily armor hippogryph with a rather equally heavily armored rider on its back swiping through the rain at a swarm of mammoth insects- flames blasting off of the sword akin to red tongues. The rider quickly ripped off of the steed, brandishing an utterly massive shield as they continued to methodically sweep their blade in well practiced and nigh admirable movements from years of training and practice. The Hippogriff snapped and clawed at the air, soon the ground growing stick with the guts of the giant wasps mixing with the mud and almost flood-like waters.

The hum of the attacking insects began to die as quickly as it had begun. Both rider and mount paused as the last of the insects was swatted into the tar-like mud, breathing heavily- steam coiling up from the plated helmet's slitted mouth as white plumes exit the hippogryph's muzzle in turn. Slowly the rider turned back to the hippogryph, approaching with heavy steps after sheathing heavy shield and flaming sword. Idly they wrapped their arms around the beast's head, murmuring sweet nothings to the beast as it folded its great wings against its sides.

" We will get home before you know, it will be just as before- this is simply a bump in the road, dearest Ansgar- imagine how angry Aven will be?" Hakon Kilandre-Alveron chuckles to her dearest companion, armored gloves gently massaging the beast's thick mane," He will be so angry with us- but so relieved. If only this storm would end, hm?" she murmurs sweetly to the beast. Ansgar clacked his beak softly in turn, as if answering in a way that caused the heavily armored woman to chuckle breathlessly. The rain pattering off the heavily armored pair like wardrums.
