When the diowolf male was worried internally there was no hiding his external habits to display those concerns. Kiba found himself rubbing the back of his neck more frequently as he saw the changes in his mate continue to eat away at her personality. Kaya always had a spark in her eyes. That spark had begun to diminish in a way that brought a heavy weight to sit in the pit of his stomach. It was as if he were watching Kaya melt away even though she was physically in front of him. There was a growing void that was growing between them despite all efforts he made.
This concern was something that grew even more desperately as the powers bestowed upon him from Lady Angela told him something was not right with his love or the world. Kiba was unsure what to do about it since his words or touch seemed unable to reach Kaya. The entire family was falling into concern for Kaya as they had begun to notice the alterations in her personality as well. Teu did her best to keep herself together in the growing days all while worried for the woman mated to her father. The children, which now was known that Teu was carrying twins, were almost too silent in Teu’s belly. Kythe was heavily laden with pregnancy, which meant that things were close at hand. Nothing felt right when Kiba sent out his senses with the new powers towards the world. It felt
wrong.
When the tremors took hold of the earth Kiba had been with Kythe. He was quick to grab hold of her to keep her steady on her feet. Eyes glowered at the ruined walls to urge them to hold. As worried he was for his mother, the diowolf sent out his senses outward in an effort to find Kaya’s life force. He was not able to extend out far as the orbs began to appear. There was a hard swallow that bobbed Kiba’s throat as he realized that the realm he was deemed Champion for was under dire attack.
Things began to make more sense. It was Kaya in wolven form that had made her way to her love and mother. The orbs that represented the balance in Kaya…Love orb was gravely dimmed. Kiba could feel his features break as he saw what was being drained of their bonding. He could feel that bond weaken despite all the emotions he threw down it in an effort to bring her back to him.
Kiba left his mother’s side to kneel down in front of the fanged golden furred femme. There was nothing but a feral response before she left in a tear of fur and teeth. The diowolf gritted his teeth as he stood up with clenched fists at his side. He needed for follow Kaya, but he was also needed by his goddess. This was an affliction coating the entire world. If he did not go to Angela in a moment such as this, than he did not warrant the title Champion.
A glance of desperation darkened his features as he looked at Kythe.
”Please forgive me,” he breathed. She knew that he had to leave to the goddess. Even with his love burning bright within his chest for Kaya, he had to do his duty. There was a solution that had to be found for her to remember him again.
Mentally calling out, his white armor formed across his body to shield it from outside attacks. The gauntlets on his hands shimmered alive with the living sand gifted to him from Angela. He could feel the sand alive and ready to do his will.
”I will help fix this.” That was all he could say before he left through a portal to where he felt the tug.

The change in Kaya had been swift and unexpected, as it had been with all the others afflicted across Revaliir. The signs had been subtle, at first, she had been quiet and unlike herself, no longer volunteering to lend a hand with the Guild, or to visit with Luna in the shop… she spent days at a time in her Wolf form, sticking to the forests, trudging an ever expanding parameter around the ruins they called home, until it tools days for her to return rather than hours.
Her family spoke in hushed whispers, Luna even gracing the Guild Hall with her presence to remark upon the strange attitude of her elder sister, the middle triplet trying not to convey her worry, but Luna could not hide her maternal concerns; different though she was to her mother and two other siblings, she could still be read like a book in certain aspects. Kaya was one of them.
It was during a conversation about Kaya’s condition, and others they knew who were exhibiting the same symptoms, that the ground began to shake. Kiba had steadied his heavily pregnant mother, while Kythe grasped her swollen belly to shield her boys from the tremors, willing her rapidly growing pair (too rapidly for her liking, she was farther along than she should have been) to remain where the were for the time being. Orbs appeared around all of them, one green the other red, vibrant and glowing in the sudden darkness since the candles had all gone out. It did not take a genius to understand what they were, especially when one’s son was Champion to Angela. Orbs of Life and Love.
Just as the family began to realise the dire situation one of their own was in, Kaya had entered the archives, padding on all fours , golden fur shimmering in the remaining candle light. One orb of vibrant green… the other… the faintest red. She was losing herself, losing her love, which all of them knew to fuel her very being. She was living, but she was not alive, not now, she was feral and drifting from them with every passing hour.
Kythe and Kiba had reached out to her, to try and touch the Wolf before them… but she had bared her fangs, hackles raised, snapping her jaws at them before turning and bolting from the Hall. For once, Tymor did not question what his Mistress required of him, he would follow the wolf until another could lend him another pair of eyes, they would keep a watch on her.
And watch Tymor did, sending images back to Kiba’s own little dragon, so that he knew where his beloved had gone. He was Champion, he had to do his duty to Angela, but no one could debate the internal conflict he must be under to follow after his lover… sadly Kythe was in no condition to, Raith had his own duties, and Luna had her children. So the task, for now, fell to the Wyvern.
She had travelled far, spurred ever onwards by her desire to find new territory, her own was filled with others and that was not good for a Wolf, she had to keep going. There was little left of Kaya’s logical mind, not the one ruled by love and loyalty to her family and friends, that part was losing its fight and she was pushed ever onward by Life and instinct. It was instinct that had led her to Vada, under the ever watchful eye of her mother’s Wyvern, a desperation to find a safe place… where plants could not lash out at her, pull at her fur and whip her… she had to keep going.
