At the mention of her age, Akira began to fidget, her hands wrung themselves before her, her tail twitched as her eyes shifted away. A rather light blush came to her cheeks. No matter how many times she had explained this before, it was still a tender subject. Everyone usually wanted to know why she aged for Lewis. She blinked at his next question, standing taller as she lifted her chin up defiantly.

"I've been alone since a baby, Xeik. I can handle myself." Most of the time, she did not mind people making that mistake, treating her as her youth dictated she should be treated. However, when in the face of crisis, how could they expect her to just sit somewhere in safety, twiddling her hands, on the off chance that something might happen to her? Akira wanted to show them how capable she truly was.

Xeik, however, decided she can help, even suggesting that she use potions to reserve her magic. Trying not to appear too excited, Akira caught the bottle with some effort. "Aye aye, Captain!" She smirked at him before her ear twitched, listening to the sounds of someone screaming. It was definitely a scream and not the sound of the victim's nerves. "An attack that way Xeik!" Akira pointed, suddenly serious again.

Despite what he was feeling, and despite the situation at hand, Xeik was pleasantly surprised when Akira arrived. When he turned to see her, he quickly hid the emotions of his failure, and put on a fake smile for her. “Akira?” He looked her over. It had been quite some time since they had a last met, and a lot had happened. “You look…older…” This was a slight sore point to Xeik, since the whole accident that aged up Lewis, and de-aged himself.

“Nevermind that,” he said more to himself than to her. “You shouldn’t be here. It’s far too dangerous. What if something were to happen to you?” There was a sinking feeling in his gut. As much as he appreciated the help from Akira, he knew her relation to Xunatar, and was deathly afraid of what might come should she be harmed under Xeik’s protection.

But the help was definitely needed. Begrudgingly, Xeik nodded to her asking if she could help. “You can help. Just leave the fighting to others. For now, we need to see what we can do to help these people…” He reached into the bag, and pulled out a rejuvenation potion that he had taken from Raile’s stocks. He tossed it to Akira. “Save any healing magic you may have for bigger injuries. Use that for anything minor. Let’s move.”

Akira didn't like the sound of the rumors, nor the fear that ran through everyone. The thought of giant purple bugs sounded pretty at first, but the side effects one falls with was horrific. She wanted to see it for herself, to discover the source and the cure. But when she got there, her heart fell to her stomach as a very large stone.

Her ears hurt from the amount of pain that screamed at her, some from far away while some sounded as if they were just beside her. Each step seemed to be heavier the further she went. There was so much happening. For some reason, she had the impending dread of doom. 'The end of the world is coming…'

She shook her head. No, she couldn't believe that. There must be hope, something to strive for. Else all was already lost. Akira pulled her hair back and bound it so it was off her neck. Then she slipped her kimono off, carefully folding it and putting it away, leaving only her skirt and a not-so-loose black sleeveless shirt. The kitsune started her search for the closest infected individual.

What she found, however, was almost unexpected. Akira watched Xeik as he was checking for a pulse and reached into his bag for something. But he was gone long before Xeik could help him. Her heart broke, knowing the pain of watching someone perish before her only too well. "Been long time, Xeik. How you?" Her voice was sad as she inquired after his health, fighting tears of empathy. "Can… Akira help you… help them?"

Ayaa was not sure what she was expecting when she and the rest of her group arrived at the scene. While there were many who were fighting and researching, there were equally as many who were wounded and afflicted by the madness of the moons. The blonde girl had no idea how to truly cope with the situation other than to move forward.

It didn’t take any time at all for Drake and Danwe to fly off, their aid needed elsewhere. Feeling as though his feminine form was not cut out for this, Xeik shifted back to his masculine form, quickly swapping a dress for his usual thief ware.

Normally Raile was a business minded merchant, with coin always on the mind, but even he knew the gravity of the situation, and had opened up his various wares for their proper uses free of charge. So, armed with a small variety of potions, Xeik made his way into the fray.

It was not long before he met his first victim. The boy knelt down, looking the man over. He had been stung by one of the insects. Due to his inexperience, the thief had no idea what the time frame was on the effects of the poison, nor did he know when the man had been stung.

“Hey,” Xeik said as he tried to check the wounded’s pulse. From what he could tell, it was faint. The boy frowned, and reached into his bag for one of the potions. But will it even do anything? The man seemed delirious at this point, babbling about a Goddess descending before him, offering herself to him. He reached out for his invisible Goddess before the light in his eyes faded, and his outstretched arm fell to the side.

Xeik sat there for a moment longer, his hand tight around the neck of a potion bottle that he had managed to grab not moments before the man had passed. Would the potion have worked? Xeik had no way of knowing. But the moment for action had passed.

Had I not hesitated…could I have saved him? The boy gripped the potion harder. And here I am feeling sorry for myself, and wasting more time… He stood up, and scanned the area. There had to be something he could do.
