As picturesque as it was an ordinary inn, Maximellian was just grateful to have a place to rest for the night rather than sleeping awkwardly at the foot of trees around a campfire. Side by side with his woman, the paladin was glad to have such an active fiance. Nights had been a little hard for them both, though as tempting as intimacy was, his faith was stronger.

Daylight lifted over the horizon of the mountains, alerting Maximellian to resume his daily workout routine before breakfast. Much to his chagrin, sleeping in next to Aurelia was not conducive to staying fit for the charge of serving the light. If they were to go on adventures together to help the people of these realms as his spouse desired, he could not get lazy. Fortunately for him the view was beautiful. The early morning mist clung to the edge of the basin, thinning at the edge of the rocks to reveal a stunning, rich landscape outlined by the rise of an orange dawn.

He was ready for the journey ahead. Only a few hours later, the armoured paladin waited for Aurelia in front of a small banquet of breakfast foods and was overjoyed when she finally arrived.  “Good morning,” the bored haze of his ocean blue eyes lit up at the sight of her “I’m glad to see you have finally arrived back in the land of the living.” Laughter left his lips as he lifted his glass to take a sip of water the waiters had kindly provided along with the food.

“I haven’t seen anything yet, though this is the first chance I have had to speak to anybody all morning,” he confessed and passed her one of the freshly cooked eggs in return for the bread. He kept at least a dozen for himself. Eggs had been somewhat of a large staple in Maximellian's diet. A course of habit when it was available, the young noble had always been told that meat and eggs were two of the best things to compliment exercise and build muscle.

“You know, we’ve gone an awful long way to find this adventurers guild you were speaking of. You are sure they will be here?”

It had taken quite a bit of traveling for them to wind up in the city of Mamlak, far from their families’ estates in Adeluna. They had to make a somewhat treacherous journey through the Mo’Mey Steppes to come upon the city that was carved elegantly into the mountains. Maxi had kept them safe from physical threats and hunted their meals while Aurelia kept the light going and tended to the fire, her blue eyes constantly wary of more sinister threats that they may come upon. One thing she had learned in Sirona’s teachings was that the undead could surface at any time. Her light magic was their best defense.

They arrived safely, though, with little trouble other than running into the odd predatory creature that needed to be scared off. Aurelia chose the nicest looking inn, one close to the waterfall’s base where nobles like their parents lived. They had spent an awkward and tense night together in the bed, constantly reminding themselves that they had yet to be married. Both of them woke with the dawn. Maxi dressed first in his armor and went downstairs while Aurelia took time dressing in an elegant set of mage’s robes that were light blue with silver embellishments and jewels.

When she came down into the tavern, he was waiting for her at a table with fruits, freshly cooked eggs and bread, water, and juices. Aurelia couldn’t help but smile at him. He was constantly taking care of her, and it was something she found she could get used to. There had been word of someone in the area recruiting for a guild and that was something they both were interested in. While other nobles might go straight into having children, they wanted to spend time helping people first.

Aurelia took a seat and poured herself a glass of choice and picked at the fruit. “Anything yet? I am certain we are bound to run into them eventually, whoever it is.” She broke the bread and put a piece on Maxi’s plate before sliding one on her own. Her eyes scanned the room as she buttered it. Surely someone recruiting would stand out or make themselves known in some way.
