"…What am I thinking?" Dalanesca's funeral was over, the aftermath was cleaned up. The world wasn't dying anymore and the spheres of Death and Desire weren't lost. There was no reason for her to be here, to come here where there was nothing she could do. Maybe she should go visit Angela, came the thought. But what was the point of going when she would just be coming to give her condolences for the goddess having to kill one of their own? What if she ran into one of the other remaining members of the Conclave there? Coming all the way only to say 'I'm sorry for what happened' felt shallow and insincere, but not saying anything at all would make her look distant and heartless. Standing through the procedures for the late Reaper's funeral was infinitely more difficult than witnessing her second, final death because it was made public. It was hard to grieve because she didn't know her well, yet some people were able to despite hardly knowing the goddess at all. Dalanesca's death hit Angela the hardest, as they knew each other for a long time. It's always easier to bring out those emotions when you possess some sort of bond, something that even Shiloh could grasp. Try as she might, she just couldn't fake it. Understanding took effort, but it was all too easy to be misunderstood. If everyone was on the same page, then most of the world's problems wouldn't exist.

Elysia was back on the rebound, as she passed several trees and shrubs with browned leaves now showing new growth. The air was still humid as ever, but with a heaviness to it now. She had no idea if Angela wanted to see anyone. If she was told she wasn't taking any visitors, then Shiloh would go back home. Everybody was trying to sort things out on their end. Not just because they lost a member, but because they confirmed an otherworldly influence. The most she could offer was the services of a confessor. Coming to the doors of Dashuri Palace, she hesitated for a moment and then knocked waiting for an answer. She had walked all the way through the jungle, not bothering to wait for the carriage. The wait would just drag out the discomfort. Before she left Antikythera, Medea handed her a bottle of lavender-infused wine. For unannounced visits like these, it was best not to come empty-handed.

"When all else fails, move on to plan B. And when that plan fails, move on to the next plan."
