[better late than never]
The wolf felt better now that she had been reunited with Ethan in the home he crafted for them. While it was on the extravagant side for her taste, it did not matter. Isleen could tell her partner had been thinking of this place for a long time. Every decision has been intentional. The manor symbolized all the hard work and sacrifice the pair shared.
One evening the pair was enjoying a drink by the water. One hand laid upon the table with Ethan’s upon it while the other fidgeted with the base of the glass. Isleen’s giggles paused as nostrils flared momentarily. Her body stiffened slightly as confusion pulled at her features. Ethan’s expression became concerned, squeezing her hand, and then followed her gaze. An ethereal, pale creature with translucent skin seemingly drifted past them and went into the tavern.
“What the hell was that?” A few seconds later, screams began pouring out of the establishment. Isleen immediately looked to her mate.
“We should probably do something,” she offered. He eased back into the seat with a grin and took a sip of whiskey.
“Go get ‘em, Unfading Star,” he offered with a wink.

It took more than expected to deal with the first of Sirona’s creatures but more began flooding the streets and destroying establishments. Things were deteriorating quickly for the sin filled down. The people looked to Nemesis for guidance and direction including Ethan. Isleen, however, did not share their love of the Apex. Instead, as the seer was getting ready to head to see Raith, a Celestial came to her and explained the brute already declared war against the Goddess behind the raids and made his way to Mandhari to obtain an orb before going directly to deal with the goddess. The wolf sighed,
“Of course, he did.” Her stormy gaze went to Ethan. He chuckled at her.
“Well, aren’t you coming?” she growled. In no version of the world could she picture her mate allowing her to go into battle of any kind without him, especially after what happened last time.
“I’ll see you there.” Ethan replied, his voice cool and smooth like satin, as he closed the distance between them. Neither seemed particularly afraid of the situation but the intensity of their goodbye kiss said it all.
When the Champion and the Celestial made it to the elephant graveyard just in time to spot Raith and Dae. Isleen sprinted towards them. The air shifted slightly around them as she pulled magic through the leyline and into her being.
“Party time?” she giggled. Isleen embodied nearly every quality Sirona was working against. It was time to show the Lady of Light just how bad the wolf could be.
