Finding new members of the Temperance of Faith was one of the hardest things to do for Damien. In a world that consisted of atrocities and the like, he found that virgins and those who abstained from worldly desires were few and far between. This, of course, was not including atrocities, such as slavery, forced marriages, and of course, the standard rape that happened every day. The world was a cruel place, and while a part of Damien had wished that he could help those in need, it was something that could not benefit him.
Those he did care for, though, were well taken care of.
It was days like this where he wandered the world in search of new members, and days like this where he met interesting people. They may not be those who are capable of joining the cult, but building relationships and alliances would be to his benefit.
It was one of these reasons that he had decided to visit the island of Maeron, where Sidheil lay. Being a port city, there were likely to be a great deal of foreign influences about. In addition, he knew of the elves and their ways. Between xenophobia and their strict way of life, elves made for good potential members. Disappointments and failures of the elven race were scorned, and where there was scorn, there was a chance for redemption through Faith.
Damien made his way through the port’s streets, the smell of the sea and volcanic ash mixing together in a surprising twist that he rather enjoyed. The demon’s human guise had once again chosen the strong and fair looking male approach, his lengthy brown hair swaying with the sea breeze. He kept his hands in his coat as he walked, making his way to the center part of the town.
For the most part, the crowd’s were manageable as he walked through the center of trade. Stalls lines the vast open space, with elves from all walks of life selling their trades. The demon stared at some of the wares with his piercing blue eyes, but it was all a part of the charade that he presented whilst attempting to glean information from the locals.
He was looking for the underdogs. The disheartened. The defeated.
