Several leagues off the south-western edge of Parvpora lay a chain of volcanic islands, many of them uninhabited and wild. The largest island in the chain, with the largest volcano, however, is home to perhaps one of the single most exclusively High-Elf settlements to be plotted on the map. Thanks to the volcano’s placement and the coastal winds, only the southern half of the island is ever darkened by smoke and ash, while the northern side remains sunny and picturesque. Though there are wooded areas on the island around the city, because of the volcanic activity there are no large forests. Thanks to the island originally being part of Feeorin Forest most of the trees have a deep blue hue and glow with the magic that it cycles from the air. The water also has an odd glow like that of Feeorin showing how powerful the magic that the forest has can be. Even the grass is a darker midnight blue like the Fae Forest.

Called Sidhiel by the High Elves who live there, the architecture of the buildings tend to spread up and out, with great tear-drop gabled roofs, carved with intricate designs that allude to nature and magic. The stone used in the buildings is actually a unique white and gray-veined crystal called howlite, which when polished shines very similar to marble. The placement of howlite veins near the volcano make this a very desirable stone on the island for building.The streets of the settlements on Sidhiel are lit up at night with floating silver lanterns that have a deep aqua-hued glow. Because of their isolation on the island which sees little to no trade, Sidhian High Elves tend to be puritanical and condescending to those they see as lesser beings, but tolerant of them. Half-elves especially are treated with condescension.

The biggest city in Sidhiel is on the northern coast and is possibly the only port that trades with the mainland, and through them goes the trade to the rest of the island. The city is named Maeron. Since it is the only port, it does have a couple of well-kept inns right on the waterfront for traders and merchants and has a large trading market just off of the docks. The port of Maeron is gorgeous, looking much like a large arching gazebo over the whole thing. The entire gazebo is made from howlite and decorated with inlaid gold. There are docks outside of the large gazebo meant for the much larger ships, though one would be a fool to attempt too large of a vessel. The island has a natural barrier reef and a navigator must know where the reef is low enough to sail through. Most come by small vessels, leaving their larger vessels anchored not far from the reef.

To keep from having to interact with strangers, there is a second market more towards the middle of the city, where the merchandise is transported to and from the dock markets. Education in magic and the ways of the light is held in high regard, all are educated in the ways of magic from a young age. However, in rare instances, those that do not show inclinations for magic are sent off to learn trade.

While condescending to non-elves, the local oligarchy does try to remain on good terms with the few merchants and traders that have visited the island and welcome the more esteemed guests into their homes. This has been known to end poorly on the odd occasion, simply because of cultural differences, but the ruling elite do try to smooth things over while quietly urging their guests to leave the island in a timely fashion. It could be said that there is a newer generation of High Elves coming into their adulthood who do not have the same condensing views. This is largely due to the curse that was on the island formerly known as Srendyimor.

Towards the volcano, no matter which settlement you are in one can find hot springs all around. These springs have vitamins and minerals that Apoy Island’s hot springs seem to lack. This might be in relation to the Feeorin magic that is so deeply rooted on the island chain.

Sidhiel was lost to the world long before the fall of Verya, Parvpora’s World Tree. Its name changed and an intense glamor came over the island. It made the island look like a wasteland. It has only been recent that the glamor has been broken and the world remembered Sidhiel’s true name and existence.
