Near the southeastern peninsula of Onnen resides alone, swampy island. People hardly visit it due to the ominous presence felt and seen from Akan, though it goes without saying that it receives its fair share of curious minded folk venturing onto it. Around the outer portions of Akan, numerous lagoons can be spotted. Within, the island is brimming with ancient trees that never seem to collapse beneath their weight with thick vines that cover them like death shrouds, coming down enough to touch the little bit of land the swamps haven’t consumed with its dark waters. Travel by foot is difficult (yet somewhat achievable) due to the serpentine inland waterways that snake throughout Akan. Lively buzzing sounds from the rather large invertebrates fill the humid, musky air. But beneath the rather unpleasant looking environment, some of the realm’s rarest flowers bloom here- those that also provide powerful herbal remedies that healers of any caliber tremble in awe.

Rainfall is commonly expected in these parts, as well as a thick, rolling fog during the morning hours. Both predators and prey use it to their advantage in concealing their forms from one another and making the game of survival all the direr.

The dominate race that resides here is reptilian people known as the Khantsi. Despite their bestial appearances, the Khantsi are brilliant and proud folk that does not take kindly at first towards other races. But if trust is proven and friendship is established, then they will welcome them like family. They are master hunters and trappers, eating what they kill and selling what remains of their prey are worth a pretty coin. Their trades are done only within Akan- one of the few reasons why people would be willing to travel there.
