When he was informed of this Festival of Stars, Raul supposed it was as good a time as any to mingle with the other inhabitants. While he himself didn’t truly appreciate just anyone’s company, he was also aware of the fact that to establish further businesses and attract people of interest, he would have to learn to be sociable. Perhaps he was biting off more than what he was bargaining for, but nothing ventured, nothing learned.

His chosen garbs for the night were etiquette and befitting of a lord; the soft silkiness of his evergreen shirt, a black vest overlapping it complete with pants of a similar color and boots. He carried in his arms a cloak just in case it grew colder as the night progressed. His dark hair was pulled back and tied into a singular, short tail that barely passed the back of his neck. Both his honey-colored eyes and olive skin would likely stand out from most of the denizens of Canelux, which depending on the situation, would be a good or bad thing.

Raul arrived a few hours into the event, and already the place was lively with participants soaring above by animals that could carry them up to the heavens. So close they were and yet even as he felt the calming wave wash over his being, he took a brief moment to ponder something.

Are they not like the moths coming ever so close to that flame that captivates them?

Look how it turns out for those insects in the end. What if they too were simply lured into their own demise? It was a nasty thought and one that he attempted to push himself away from. Tonight was about mingling and getting a few things out of it even. For the time being, he would simply try and enjoy himself. As good of a move as any, Raul moved over to the refreshments table to take one of the glasses of white wine before he moved to a more secluded area and sat down, continuing to watch his fellow partygoers reach for something both magnificent and a bit terrifying.
