Attie realized that there was an awkward silence and began to wonder if she had done something wrong or said something insulting. Or perhaps there was some sort of custom that she didn't know about. Why was she even getting so worked up about this?! Although she was panicking on the inside, her expression showed nothing but a calm smile and a cheery expression. Luckily, a professor had walked up to them to explain that Eden was going to a writing lesson. Attie's eyes widened with curiosity as she quickly developed an interest in this writing lesson. She had writing lessons before, otherwise she wouldn't be able to write at all in her journal. However, her writing was one of the worst in existence as only she could actually read it most of the time.
"Yeah I'm Attie!" She said enthusiastically, "I'd love to join a lesson. I'd be interesting to know how I'm doing on my handwriting. If you'd be fine with me joining."
The last part was more directed to Eden as she didn't want her to feel imposed by Attie's sudden inclusion in the lesson. Attie knew that there was training for battle that was provided by the guild, but she didn't realize that the guild provided other lessons in addition to that. She wondered what the lesson rooms would be like and how the teacher would teach.
"So you need lessons too?" She directed towards Eden.

Eden's ears flicked back as she heard a voice call out towards her before her head followed suit, the light jangle of chain links clanging against each other as the metal collar moved from her shift, before the tiger-kin's eyes locked onto the eyes of the smaller girl before her. A silence lingered between the two as she stared, though whether it was seen as more intimidating was more on her end, but to Eden, her mind was hard in processing the question and what she meant by it.
Is… is this "small talk?"
This has not been something Eden had been used to, partly because survival never really entailed such trivial conversations and the other was her vocal abilities in general: another part of her training. So far, the best she could say has been "Yes," "No," and her own name, but the strain on her throat still made it feel rough. As easily as she would love to have it be healed and washed away, the scars were more from under-use than actual damage, though the steel collar around her neck was still a part of the cause itself.
As for the question itself… it was one that she had to figure out. Sure, she would easily hunt for them and eat it, but that was to get through the days. The idea of eating so casually and relaxed was foreign to her survival instincts and was hardly a case of "Do you like to eat" versus "Do you need the energy for the day?" Fish were easy prey as she found them to be, but only of there was access to a river or stream. Land meats were often more accessible, but she found her body did not like it if it was not roasted over an open flame.
She found herself losing composure to the simple little question as she tried to mentally process it, tail swaying back and forth as her finger flicked left and right.
"You would me Miss… Attie, am I correct?" the professor stated as Eden was lost in thought, "Forgive us, but we must be going to our writing lesson. If you wish to join us, you are free to. After all, we have been
sure to have plenty of quills, ink, and parchment to get you working on your skills as well.

Attie watched as the battle between the man and the woman ended. She hadn't learned either of their names but she wanted to. Ever since she had joined Nosse, all she wanted was to be a part of the group. People were friendly and nice but most of them already knew each other. Most of them had such strong bonds with each other, that it was difficult to join in and understand everything that was going on. Then there was the issue of how to start developing friendships in the first place. Unlike on the road, there wasn't much to bond people together other than being in the same guild.
On the road there were things like dangerous thieves, deadly cliffs, and many other things that brought her to some of her closest friends. But Attie would not let this get in her way. She was determined to find a way to fit in and get along with everybody. To one day have that close bond that so many other guild members shared. She stood up and began to walk out of the room. While she was walking, she happened to come across Eden. Here was a new person that she could talk to. All Attie needed to do was to greet her and start up a friendly conversation.
"Hey……You fought good." Attie fumbled through her words, "I fight things too! Sooooo um…do you like fish?"
Attie had no idea what she was doing.

A flash of the blade came down to the tiger-kin, reacted by a swift halt and shift to the side before restraining the wielder's arm and heaving him over her shoulder. The impact made him gasp for breath, the shock loosening his grip long enough for her to pry the blade out of his grasp and have it fall back to the ground. The grip on the man was quickly abandoned as the tiger traded it for the blade, though was quick to hurl it further behind her. A groan escaped the man as he pulled himself up as the sharp eyes of the tiger as she readied herself once more. The man tensed himself up and began to print forward–
"That's enough," a voice called out, causing the man to trip up as a violet wolf with an enchanted collar walked up. "It is clear at this point who the winner would be. At your level, it would be wise to simply surrender and recover what you took versus taking a worse impact."
"Ugh, you are only saying that because she threw away my sword. If she didn't–"
"AND WHY DO YOU THINK SHE DID?" The loud bark made the man jump as Eden rolled her shoulders, catching her breath before fetching the abandoned blade. "Just because this is training does not mean she should be lax on her opponent. She was able to easily read a reliance on your weapon, thus aimed to defang you before punishing her weakened opponent. In an honorable duel, the case would be different, but where she grew up, mercy was little, and rogues are no different. Work to be flexible, and you will certainly improve." Eden walked up to the man once more, offering the handle to him with a reluctant sigh escaping him as he took it and sheathed it once more.
"Miss Eden," echoed from the gate of the training field where a scholar waited, "Ah, there you are. Seemed you finished jsut in time. Come, its time for your writing lesson to begin."
This was how Eden's life was turning in now. From starting in the arena as a slave, to meeting with the God of Magic and accessing a sleeping power in her, and now here she was, taking lessons that many people saw as "normal skills." The vocal training was still rough, and her penmanship was still atrocious, but now it seemed to have reached a point where people can have an idea of what she was putting down? … Maybe? It still felt awkward to hold such a delicate quill in her hand as the number of ones she snapped added up quickly. Still, it seemed her knowledge of arena fights aided in terms of helping deal with conflicts, and her time on the roads and in the woodlands assisted in her survival traits. If there was something she was unfamiliar with, she had many deals with her wild companions that she could call upon and learn herself.
"Still, it is never good to leave yourself dusty and sweaty all day. Maybe you should take a quick rinse before you head to the dining hall." He always seemed to have stapled that on afterwards her training and work outs. However, instead of it being a more knowledge skill, it was a social skill she had to get down as well, which also collowed suit with coin counting… the one lesson that always drove her mad…
