A hooded figure walked slowly through the busy and crowded streets of the bustling and very populated city. Keeping his head held low, he continued to wander mindlessly, not having or knowing of any location he could stop by. He stared at the ground, allowing people to bump into him and knock him backwards occasionally. But when they apologized, he didn't say anything and kept walking. Eventually, people passed him off as deaf and blind. But they could not be more wrong. His sense of smell, sight, and hearing were very delicate, and exceeding that than any other human. Since his father was Lycan, and his mother was half Lycan, most of the family expected him to be full Lycan. But he was born human, and his mother died during labor. His father had hired a mage to bound his mothers soul to his, so he can now see ghosts. And there were plenty in Adeluna. Mostly souls who were chained to places or people, some occasional free-roaming souls, and quite a few spirits. One spirit he could never see clearly or touch was his mothers spirit. It was more of a blurry dot of bright light. But he could feel her touch and her words very clearly.

A mothers love is something. That no one can explain.
Its made of deep devotion. And of sacrifice and pain.
It is endless and unselfish. And enduring come what may.
For nothing can destroy it. Or take that love away.
It is patient and and forgiving. When all others are forsaking.
And it never fails or falters. Even though the heart is breaking.
It believes beyond believing. When the world around condemns.
And it glows with all the beauty. Of the rarest, brightest gems.
It is far beyond defining. And defies all explanation.
And it still remains a secret. Like the mystery of creation.
A many splendoured miracle. Man cannot understand
And another wondrous evidence. Of Gods tender guiding hand.

The words soothed him, as he began to walk slower, and look up from the ground, just enough to see a thin line of the bright blue sky. The library was not far from where he was, so he waved to his mother, as the ball of light disappeared into the morning sky. He pulled the hood off of his face, and as he pulled open the door to the library. Walking to the front desk, he stuttered over his words, fiddling with his hands. …t-the mystical c-creature …s-section please… He stumbled. The librarian pointed to the back of the library. The walked quickly, grabbing a few books off the shelf, and began reading. He drifted off into an alternate reality. Where he want to uncharted lands with his mother and father, explored dangerous lands with other species, and slaying horrifying monsters with nothing but a dagger. As night fell, he continued to read, his eyes drooping, as he slowly fell asleep, the book sliding out of his hands and out on the floor, only to be waken up by not the librarian.. but someone else.
