Slinking from the shadows, Wlfrich looks at this pitiful display of greed and pride. It was a surprise that he got into the city, undead aren't usually allowed in for the bad reputation they have. Wlfrich taps Shiloh on the shoulder, "Hey, what's a pretty girl doing with painting like that?".

After she had crossed over a few houses, she realized she was no longer being followed by the armored man. Had he given up? Keeping herself close to the roof tiles, she crouched behind a chimney and looked for any armed men in a hurry. When she had found none, she quietly backtracked across the buildings once again back to the place she and the client had agreed to meet after the job was done. Shiloh remembered his face: black hair, black eyes. Shorter than six feet and taller than five. His clothing was concealing and suitably dark-colored. At the moment she couldn't remember his name but she could pick him out from a crowd with ease. He was shorter than her, and possibly younger. Boys always started growing taller later than girls but normally ended up winning out in that area in the end.

Perching at the corner of a support beam, she scanned the area slowly until her eyes spotted him. He appeared to be alone, and she did not sense the presence of other beings. within several meters. Perfect. Slipping down the side of a wall, she landed on all fours before standing upright and walked quietly towards him. She let out a low, drawn-out whistle to let him know she was here. This was a signal they discussed beforehand in case she couldn't approach him directly.

"Well, there's no use in taking her now, I'll just let the armed men take her" Hyde said to himself before walking into the night.

The Beacon shined bright in this heavy night sky. The south side of the city found itself drenched in it's indiscriminate gaze - the structure that had once been a lighthouse was now something both more and less. It's light so far from the receding shore provided no security to incoming vessels, but instead the tower kept the Docks in order. It was an ever vigilant Watchman, and it was on this vantage that Davik stood. His posture low as always, arms swaying in the singing wind, the boy's eyes flitted sharp as ever across rooftops, following shadowed shapes and distant cries. He had sent reliable men to the auction, and had confirmation of the paintings arrival. From here he now watched, prepared for the only remaining risks.

A sudden snap in the nocturnal ambience, the alarm of the auctionhouse came as a surprise even to him. It's shrill cry disoriented him, just long enough that he almost failed to spot it's cause. Stumbling first, but now sprinting across the slated rooftops below was an inconspicuous woman, carrying a slightly less subtle cargo.

Davik reached behind him to his quiver, drawing an arrow and his breath. In the same movement he sliced his left palm, arrow in his right hand, and let the blood wrap around the arrowhead. If he had a bow he would have nocked it. Instead, the boy drew his arm back, holding the weighty ammunition like a javelin, before exploding forward and releasing it into the gold-lit night. It flew high and flat - straight towards the departing figure. The same push that gave the dart lift also sent him stumbling forward, but before gravity even had the chance to tug him over the edge, Davik threw himself off the Beacon.

Five hundred meters away in the city below, not more than a block from where Shiloh and Hyde stood, an arrow found its destination. The very moment the dart touched the ground, a half-second flash of purple light gave way to Davik himself, slamming into the ground with far less than the velocity he had been falling at. Climbing slowly to his feet, he surveyed the street for any sign of the art-wielder.

"No." Shiloh responded by quickly tying the painting to her back with a rope, binding it around her midsection. Continuing to back against the wall, her eyes darted around quickly assessing how many were currently pursuing her. For the time being, it was just this man. She couldn't take on a person in heavy armor, and time was ticking away. With no patience for interruptions, she curtly replied. "None of your business." Her next move was to enter into a state of extreme focus and she jumped, scaling up the wall she had backed up into.

Get out. You need to get out. This way, this way! Arrive at the location, drop the painting, collect the payment. Time's a wasting!

Her mind was running a mile a minute, sounds and sights flooding in. He couldn't get her up here, not with that heavy metal plating weighing him down. Having regained the high ground, she dashed across the roofing tiles again. For those who didn't bother to look up, they would miss the figure leaping from building to building. But for someone who had seen her, they would be able to follow her with their eyes. Whether if they could keep up before she disappeared would be up to the pursuer.

"Drop the painting" Hyde said to the woman.

Hyde's voice was trailing off but he tried his hardest to keep it in a commanding manner.

"Who are you?" He questioned the woman
"And why'd you take that painting from that house?"

Having experienced more than a few bad landings in her lifetime, she handled the pain with the composure of a devout member of the clergy. Climbing out of the shattered remains of the barrel, she stood up, holding tightly onto the painting. Shiloh quickly recognized the glint of a weapon pointed at her and began to back away towards the wall. It wasn't what it looked like, but she had learned early on that people tended to jump to conclusions first and ask questions later. Her head was still swimming from the adrenaline rush to properly discern if this armored man was part of the auction house guards, so she assumed he was.

It was a simple job. A robbery had taken place, and the victim wanted his prized possession back. The possession in question was a painting, a musty portrait three feet long and two feet wide. It was of his great-great-great-great grandfather, a man of great renown and repute before the eventual decline in the family's fortune and social standing. To her these things did not matter, all she wanted was an accurate description. The theft had occurred on the fifth day of the fourth month, which Shiloh had learned was known as 'Bellum'. During the robbery the scoundrels took many things, but the owner specifically requested for her to recover the portrait. When asked, he said it was because it had a secret hidden within its strokes, which if deciphered correctly would lead to his ancestor's fortune. Sure, of course it would. Everyone said that about their heirloom paintings. If their forebears had wanted their progeny to find their riches in some kind of scavenger hunt, then perhaps they would put it in something that couldn't be so easily stolen.

But she was being paid for a reverse theft, not for her personal opinions, so here she was in the dead of the night scaling rooftops in hot pursuit. Within a few days she had managed to identify the thieves who had stole it, and soon memorized the places they frequented. She had watched them pawn off the rest of the pilfered goods to travelers as curios, but there was no sign of the painting. For a week, she had continuously shadowed them listening in on every inane quip and brainless conversation they had at the tavern, waiting for one of them to have a slip of the tongue. Finally, she caught wind of their plans to sell off the painting at a private auction to a Parvporan noble and staked the auction location out until the day of the bidding.

The bidding started with a few marble statues likely stolen from other places. While the guards were busy focusing on the auction, she had slipped in through a window and impersonated a housemaid. The servant in question was lying unconscious, bundled up like a moth larva in the drapes she was cleaning and had been knocked out in one of the bedrooms. After lifting the keys from an inattentive guard and replacing them with the maid's, she accessed the cellar where they were keeping the items planned for auction until it was time to bid. She found the painting easily, but wanted to plant a substitute. In the time she had spent watching the thieves' movements she had prepared a set of nailed planks in the same shape and size. Leaving the fake behind, she absconded with the portrait into the night. When she had scarcely left the building, she heard a cry of alarm as someone likely discovered the maid or the item had gone missing.

With no time to lose, she clambered from rooftop to rooftop to the designated drop off point she had arranged for the client. Sliding the treasure in through an open window, she dropped a crumpled note addressed to the owner and continued running. By now she was moving on all fours like a cat, which would seem odd for a human but something entirely normal for her. It didn't matter if it make her look like an animal–it was efficient. Without turning to look behind, the angry shouts of armed men were not too far off. She came across a gap that was a tad too wide, and decided in that moment to jump. The brief moment of sailing through the air ended with a loud crash as she fell into a pile of empty barrels.
