A savanna lies northeast of Jasumin Lake, filled with thick grass and majestic oaks. A great variety of animals wander beneath the trees, including deer, aurochs, snakes, lynx, boars, wolves, squirrels, bears, foxes, and many other forest dwelling creatures. Owls, eagles, thrush, sparrows, and other birds can be found in the trees’ branches. The rivers teem with fish and frogs, as well as providing water for both the wildlife, and the people that reside within the Savanna.

The people that have claimed the savanna are called the Bőr Séta, a hardy people who are very welcoming to outsiders. Visitors are offered a room for the night, as well as a feast. They live in a number of small villages scattered through the savanna, tending their farms and herds. The sheep provide milk, wool for weaving, and meat, as well as a tradegood. They also sell embroidered goods, including blouses and hair ribbons to brighten their dark hair. The people also farm wheat, potatoes, and root vegetables.

They are also renowned horse breeders, raising the Arany breed for both work and pleasure riding. The horses are valuable both to the Bőr Séta and to outsiders, as they are even tempered, energetic and tenacious. Three times a year, the Bőr Séta hold a grand market to sell their horses to outsiders, and this is the only time that they are available without resorting to theft. The grand market also includes a number of events, including horse racing, dressage competitions, and mounted archery contests. Horse thieves are treated harshly, but outsiders are willing to take the risk to obtain the Arany horses. And the Bőr Séta are just as invested in keeping their animals safe, even hiring adventurers to patrol the pastures.

However, some are very wary of the Bőr Séta, for they are a breed of shapeshifters. They have four different bloodlines, the wolf, the bear, the fox, and the eagle-owl. The religious beliefs of the Bőr Séta are based on the need to live in harmony with the elements, each other, and the animals they believe watch over their people. They care very little for the gods of the land, preferring to worship the eternal elements. They are also superstitious, leaving offerings for spirits, hanging charms to scare away ghosts, and welcoming to strangers as they believe anyone could be a spirit or enchanter in disguise. They also carry out a funeral custom which most outsiders find curious at best, and horrifying at worst. If a warrior is mortally wounded, an elder feels they are at the end of their days, or even a criminal is condemned to death, they can choose szellem etetés, to have their body hanged from the trees outside the villages. It is viewed by the Bőr Séta as a tribute to their guardian animals, and the bones are left to hang in the trees to ward away evil.

As a whole, the Bőr Séta gather together four times a year, upon each equinox and each solstice. Their chosen gathering place is a mound raised from the earth, and a ring of massive stones rests atop it. The Bőr Séta are closed mouthed as to how the henge was built, or if it was found when they settled the area. The limestone is carved with runes and words of an unknown language, and the carvings seem to glow silver in the night at every gathering. It is a beautiful, but eerie place.
