Fauna

Character Info
Name: Fauna
Age: 19
Alignment: CN
Race: Deer Satyr
Gender: Female
Class: Ranger
Silver: 1048
It had been Fauna's first time on a ship. The large waves crashed against the boat, she could practically taste the salt in the water for the scent was so strong. Many creatures she had never seen in her life had boarded the ship. Large green giants who seemed to all look like men. Wide noses and faces that always seemed twisted in anger with large teeth. There were also less threatening creatures, short dwarves, elegant elves and humans. She felt as if she was being stared at the whole time on the ship for she was as new and bizarre to them as they were to her. Deer satyrs were quite the elusive species and rarely did any venture out of the confines of their tribe's land. Even rarer was when one would be banished.

It had only been a few weeks since Fauna had left and she had seen such wonders from that short time. So many creatures so different from her and so many different types of magic. By the time she left the ship she had gotten over her sea-sickness and when she disembarked from the ship she immediately threw up from land-sickness.  She stumbled a bit before sitting down on the stone of the ship port. She never had sea or land sickness in her life, no one had ever warned her about it. Who would have? She was likely the first of her species to board a ship in over a hundred years. She sat there feeling very dizzy, and hungry. The ship couldn't carry much food and all she had the whole time on the ship was hard bread rolls and old fruit. It had only been a few days but it still was overall a terrible experience. She looked around and saw that there were taverns and merchant stands. She didn't know if she had the strength to get up or the will power, maybe she just needed a few more minutes.

Grakana

Character Info
Name: Grakana
Age: 10
Alignment: TN
Race: Goblin: Shakalaka Tribe
Gender: Unspecified
Class: Alchemic Shaman
Silver: 47
So many people towered over Grakana that he seemed to have been a fly: Hardly noticeable, but when he was, he was often a pester. Still, the little entity, hardly standing a foot tall if not from the pipe of his helmet-esque mask that enclosed his face. Still, he was able to get by, collecting good quality stone to try and craft a new mask, though the chunk alone was certainly a chore to move about.

As he stumbled along the port road, there was a face that stood out much from the other Talls that filled the area. This lady tall was certainly not as bitey as the others, nor as packed. What she was, though, was green in the face! Leaving the stone for a bit (which would quickly be followed by an orc tripping over it), Grakana hurried along to the satyr's feet, looking up at her as his head tilted side to side. "You no look good. Horn Lady look like she swallowed nest of butterflies!" Without much time to react, Grakana pulled out a bowl from anyone could only call "from out of nowhere" before tossing a random assortment of items into it. With everything set, he shrieked out his form of a battle cry, holding up his mallet before bashing and smashing the internal contents in a rough fashion until the biggest chunk could easily rest on the tip of your finger.

"NOW THEN! Horn Lady! Pour this into pipe, and Grakana will help you feel better!" he ordered her, using the dirty mallet to point to the small pipe opening that decorated the top of his mask…

Fauna watched perplexed as a small green thing ran up to her. She could barley focus on him (?) the sex of the creature was unknown. She had never seen a thing like him in her life. Out of nowhere a bowl appeared, she blinked and it was filled with a strange mesh of items. She gingerly picked up the bowl slowly and carefully reached over. She looked as though she though the creature would jump up and bite her. She poured it into the pipe.

Many orcs walked by shooting the two strange looks, mostly of disgust at the pool of stomach bile that covered the stones. Others just looked at her the same way most did, with curiosity at her strange looks. Being stared at always put her on edge, strangers made her anxious and jumpy and she always felt as if they were preparing to attack or spying on her.
Out of all the creatures she had seen before he for sure was the strangest. Most of the others she'd seen were about her height, wore normal clothes, spoke normally and above all she could see their face. There were very few creatures that the satyrs of her tribe knew of or cared to mention. Mainly humans, but other creatures she knew very little about, maybe this creature was common and she just hadn't seen one because of how short of a time she had been out in the real world.

Grakana could feel the contents fill around his head as the mask was stuffed full of the mushrooms and herbs he had just mashed together, and when everything was in there, he offered his hands up to take the bowl back just to set it on the ground, before standing stiff. Still, yet not quiet, as from behind all the contents Grakana began muttering a low chant. As the volume increased, his stiff form loosened up as he began to sway back and forth before hopping side to side. He stepped back and forth like a crab as his chants kept growing bolder until the point where actual steam began to pour out of the funnel! All the contents she poured in was now being boiled through his ritual!

"CHAH!" was the final note he landed on, standing with limbs out stiff and head tilted back before his knees began to bend. Without moving his head an inch, he moved to grab the bowl he used to mash the items beforehand before finally tilting his head forward, where the brew he concocted began to seep out of the jaw of the mask. It was certainly not a pleasant color, but at least its odor was not as horrible?

When all the contents were out, Grakana looked back up before offering it back to the Satyr, stating, "Drink this! Shall relieve of any blehs still in guts! Though Grakana warn you: It bitter! Safe, but very bitter!"

The creature danced before Fauna smoke pouring out of it's mask. The creature poured the mixture into the bowl and handed it to her speaking in a very clunky manner. She reached out and gently took the bowl, gulping it down. It tasted warm going down but was very bitter like gin and black coffee. She spluttered it made her face feel hot but after a moment she could feel the strength returning to her body. The mental fog caused by her dizziness cleared and she got up from the ground pushing against the cold wet stones with her hands to help herself up. "Thank you strange creature." she said kneeling back down to talk to him. "What might you be little green one?" she asked cocking her head to the side quizzically. She began to trust the thing, as he had shown her kindness. The creatures she met from outside her tribe often weren't kind, understanding or even non-threatening. They were often quite brash and were quick to take advantage of her lack of knowledge and her own kindness. She didn't know if he wanted something in return for his service but if he did she doubts dit'd be anything that would cause her much trouble to do and she would not mind returning his favor.

ll Her stomach growled in hunger. She wondered if there were any stands selling peaches, she often had those when she lived with the tribe and the sweet juicy fruit always brought her comfort and a full stomach. She had a small pouch full of coins and if she could find somewhere selling produce she could buy some and curb her hunger. She was a herbivore and didn't have the digestive tract for eating meats or the teeth for chewing it. All her teeth were flat like a deer's teeth.

"Grakana is Grakana! He is of Shakalaka tribe with crafty Mask of Blends telling Grakana such handy things. Grakana also out, mastering practice of mask making, further binding with spirits of masks!" If she could even see his face, it would certainly be one beaming with pride and accomplishment on what he has done do far. "Still, Grakana has way to go to master Way. That why Grakana got –" However, as he turned around to point at the stone slab he had been lugging around, it was gone. The orc who had tripped over it had easily tossed it aside.

"WAAAAH! Where stone go?! Grakana was gong to make Mask of… Something with it! It good stone, too…" his head was now hanging low as the eyes from the mask itself began to drip, as if crying externally for him. "So hard to get stone, and now stone gone. …"  He froze in the moment as he processed what happened before shooting straight back up as energetic as before. "Grakana must save coin-coin for better stone! With better stone, Grakana can make better mask! He shall learn of stone spirit in mask after he make it and be better in Way of Mask! GRAKANA PROMISES THIS!!!"

Still, it was not like the orcs were really going to bother with such a small, masked goblin and his crazy ramblings…

Fauna looked confused for a moment, but then she began to think about what he was saying deciphering his nonsense ramblings. "You lost your stone? Don't worry small one! I can purchase some for you, whatever kind you want." She reached out her hand. "I can carry you to the shops." She looked up to see all the stands selling an assortment of things, she didn't know if any of the stands would be selling stone but if they could find the blacksmiths they would likely have left over stone and if not she could always search on her own. How hard could it be to find some stone? She'd do whatever it would take to pay back the creature for his kindness to her.

She had about 150 silver in her pouch so it'd be no trouble buying him some stone from his masks which he seemed rather passionate about. She didn't understand it but that didn't mean she couldn't try to understand or at least try to help.
