Sitting between the Ancense Mountains and the Laeto Rainforest lies the bosom of Canelux known as the Plains of Bohar. Large and sprawling, these rolling hills stretch out as far as the eye can see: a seemingly infinite sea of grass and prairie animals. The plains serve primarily as a nexus of trading routes for the caravans travelling between the major cities of Canelux, but the southern reaches are also occupied by legions of farmers and small towns. It is not that uncommon to see a caravan at any point on the plains, though they are often heavily guarded.

The main inhabitants of the Boharan Plains, other than the citizens of Adeluna who have settled on its southern border, are the Boharan Tribesmen. They are a nomadic folk that move across the plains depending on the season, relying primarily on the deer that naturally breed in their home for food. These people leave marks all over the landscape during their regular migrations: symbols that depict good spots to lay camp for a season or where dangerous creatures might lurk. Good luck to any outsiders who try to read these pictograms, however, because the Boharans are loathe to reveal their secrets lest others take advantage of them. Attempting to force information out of them has always ended poorly, especially since their skill in horse archery is just as deadly as it is legendary.

Boharan Tribesmen have been known to work as mercenaries for merchants that pay enough, and this practice has proven to be a valuable and worthwhile investment for travellers. The mercenaries will never turn on their own, however, and there are stories of merchants who were left to rot when they tried to compromise the Boharans’ sense of loyalty to each other. It is best to never cross them, because, while most animals on the plains may be mundane like wolves, wild horses and deer, far more dangerous things lurk in the northern reaches. Lost cities and mythical creatures dot that area, all of which the Boharan people have one thing to say about - “Stay away.” It would be most unwise not to listen, or to have a price on your head amongst them.
