Ezili stretched and flailed around a bit in the big bed. Their bed was hugeeee now! No longer was it the small single bed now it was a large canopy bed. The room wasn’t done up for children either. Simone was still renovating and it showed she was bored though with three little ones always around her she wondered how long she could keep Kalina entertained with her projects.
Padding after Lucas like a puppy she followed him up to the second floor. Her opal eyes got only a glance at what Lucas saw and her face lit up red. “Whoa.”
Then it processed in her mind and she got up close to the door, “I’m so happy for you two! I knew you would be perfect! You look so muscular to Rex! Good job! She looks happy!”
Inside Hazel had a hand clamped over her eyes now as she was red from embarrassment. She was now sitting on the sink and she couldn’t even bring herself to look at Rex.
“Okay, well, Lucas and I are going to go back downstairs and we’ll be back up in a few to take our bath! So please don’t have sex too long okay?” Ezili skipped away only to turn around and take Lucas’s hand dragging him back down.
Hazel looked up at her lover, “I’m never going to be able to look Lucas or Ezili… in the eyes ever again. The sad part is? Ezili will look us both in the eyes and be HAPPY about it. Let’s just…” She dragged him for a bath and soon they changed into their new clothes and got ready for breakfast.

With Hazel’s prompt, Rex felt almost obligated to show her a new trick or two before going back home. Like the night before, it was explosive. At this point, Rex wasn’t sure if it was his love and attraction for Hazel, or the lycanthropy, but sex with her could easily become an addiction. Finally, though, they managed to get dressed (in Rex’s case, forcing clothes onto him), and they went back to the Isle de Koskaan.
The first thing that happened was, of course, Simone greeting them. The second thing that happened turned both him and Hazel red.
“Mom! Doooonn’t…” He flushed, and looked to the side.
As she scampered off to get clothes, Rex apologized to Hazel. During this time, the shirt he was wearing started to tear at the seems. Simone came back with extra clothes, and Rex thankful took them as they went to the upstairs washroom.
Rex was naked in a flash, thankful to get out of the tight fitting clothes. He pampered over to Hazel with a half smirk. “Mom is…a lot less worried about it than Dad, but…Dad isn’t too worried about me.” He grinned, though, as he loomed over Hazel for a moment. “I think…if you’re quiet enough…….” There was that hunger in his eyes again.
Hazel blushed, and nodded. He moved over to her, kneeling down to kiss her….
—
Lucas rolled out of bed, yawning. He looked over to Ezili, who was comfortably sleeping under her sheets. He wanted to let her sleep for the moment, and he stretched. They had moved downstairs to one of the larger rooms at Simone’s behest where there was more room for the two of them. Unfortunately, due to a variety of Mira related reasons, the downstairs bathroom wasn’t an option. So, like every morning, he wandered up the stairs.
He heard a loud banging noise first. Still have asleep, Lucas assumed Kalina was working on something. He moved down the hall, and suddenly he heard a feminine voice. It sounded…familiar, but Lucas couldn’t pin it down. It was growing louder, and suddenly he wondered if someone was in danger. Determined, he ran down the hall, and slammed the door open to where he heard the voice; the bathroom.
Rex paused as he looked over with a sour look, as if he was pissed that they were being interrupted.. Hazel was leaning against the sink, her eyes wide as she slowly turned a bright red.
“…” Lucas blinked, and then slammed the door shut, turning around almost instantly. As his face started to turn red from embarrassment, he realized that Ezili had followed him up.
“Was that…?” Ezili asked sleepily.

“Well, all I got is a bucket and a towel Lover Boy. If you want a non-public bath with me you’ll just have to take me home with you,” she tickled his sides lightly before laying a few kisses on his chest. “Fine, the puppy gets five more minutes,” she smirked a bit as she watched him get comfortable again. “I really like it too…” She whispered to him. “Just like I like you~ and like what you do…” She kissed his neck softly. “And… You aren’t too shabby of a teacher.”
Almost if prompted Rex’s eyes shot back open and looked at her before rolling her over. It wouldn’t be too bad to show her another thing so soon~ At least it wouldn’t be overwhelming like their first night trying things out… She had to smack him for that.
Exhausted, Hazel laid next to him and nuzzled his neck once more, “You are going to make me want to stay in bed all day… We really need that bath now.”
Once they were dressed and had clothes in hand to change into they made their way to the Terrowin castle where they were greeted by Simone, “REX! MY BABY!” She ran towards him and hugged him tightly. “You are okay! Why didn–” She gave him a sniff and looked at Hazel. “He finally got in your pants.”
Hazel was bright red, “Rex’s clothes don’t fit anymore…”
“He can borrow some of Lucas’s… The kid grows too much.” Simone scampered off happily before coming back with a pair of pants and a shirt, “Here until he can get more clothes made. You can use the kids’ bath upstairs.”
Once they were in the washroom Hazel about collapsed to the ground, “I didn’t know how she would react… She looked pleasantly surprised but that was nerve-wracking.”

When the morning came, Rex woke up to Hazel gently tracing the marks she had left across him. It felt…nice. This was the first time that he had woken up like this in a long time, and even better, it was with someone that he deeply loved. Bonus points were awarded for the fact that he didn’t have to jump out of a window to avoid an angry father.
“No,” he said, answering her as she traced down his back. He shivered at her touch. “That feels really nice, actually.” She moved in to cuddle, and he wrapped himself around her, just feeling her skin against his. Compared to his skin, her’s was nice and cool. It felt amazing.
“No. No running…” he muttered, still half asleep as he pulled her tighter into his embrace. “‘Was nice. Really nice.” He took a deep breath. Spices filled his nose, and he smiled. The scent was strong, and it started to wake him up. “Though after all of that, we definitely need a bath…and I’d prefer a non-public one…” He thought for a moment. “Could go home…Mom and Dad would want to see me too…”
Despite this, he didn’t let go of Hazel. She was too comfortable. “Maybe…five more minutes,” he muttered. “I like this…” He closed his eyes again, taking in her scent. He was starting to pick out each individual spice, and for some reason, it was lulling him back to sleep.
“I really like this…”

Hazel kissed him back and held his chin in her hands in the most gentle manner possible. Mercury eyes watched red ones as she assessed how to proceed with his request. Finally, he kissed her once more pushing her down and she felt her heart seize up. She knew what he was going to ask because he had been begging for it all along and she was finally ready.
“Yeah, you can have that. I think I’ve tortured you long enough,” she pulled him down into another kiss as he slowly but surely got rid of their clothing. He was enjoying that a bit more than she was but she let him have his fun with it.
He was gentle at first but eventually, the wolf in him kicked in but Hazel was ready for it. In the morning, the loft was a disaster thanks to Rex throwing things everywhere and hay was strung about. She had various bruises all over her but it didn’t compare to the marks she had left on him. “Does it hurt?” She let her fingers trail the marks on his sides, shoulders, and back.
“Do you want me to put some herbs on it?” She tilted her head as they cuddled under a blanket. Her touch was light and gentle like always.
“Also… it didn’t make you want to run away did it?”

Now that they were both awake, Hazel wrapped herself around him. She had taken the time to think of what he had said before they went to sleep, and answered in kind, using the terminology that he had used. They were each other’s everything, each other’s moon. Rex felt something close to overwhelming joy when the words left her lips, and he hugged her back, laughing as she nuzzled him.
“I can’t tell you how happy that makes me,” Rex said as tears formed in the corner of his eyes. “I can’t begin to imagine my life without you. Without you…I’d…” He merely let the thought trail off, and kissed her passionately. Her words lingered in his thoughts for a moment, and he kissed her again, pushing her onto her back. Once more, there was a hungry look in his eyes, but this time he felt more in control.
“I…want you. All of you…” His words were soft. “Please…”
Author: Hazel, Posted: Tue Feb 23, 2021 8:02 PM, Post Subject: Life Finds a Way [P/R]
Hazel looked a bit shocked for a moment. “I’m… your moon?” Her eyes watched him for what seemed like a long time before she smiled, “I’M YOUR MOON!” She jumped on him and hugged him tightly. She knew what it meant because Xeik had explained it. She was his everything. “Rex…” She kissed him soundly and rubbed her nose to his. “You are my everything too… I was so scared I wasn’t going to be able to have you back.”
Once they climbed into bed she snuggled up to him. He was more like a furnace more than ever but she appreciated it during the cold Sularia nights. “Are you complaining?” She chuckled up at him. “Could be an empty spice rack with me on the other floor away from you~” She teased him before kissed his nose and happily closing her eyes.
When Rex bolted up she did the same, “Rex?! Are you okay?” It was a nightmare for him and she calmly put her arms around him after watching him act like a dog. There was laughter. “This is going to be a long… adjustment period.” She pulled him down over her and looked up at him curiously. “You…” She paused and held a thinking look.
“Rex, I think I love you. More than anything. You are my moon too.” She wrapped herself around him and smiled. “And I’ll never leave you or hurt you. Only love you and adore you.” She rubbed her nose against his.
“If you want something from me all you have to do is ask…”
Author: Hellebore, Posted: Tue Feb 23, 2021 7:42 PM, Post Subject: Life Finds a Way [P/R]
“Why….why wouldn’t I choose you?” Rex asked as he tried to get his old shirt and pants on. They barely fit, and he could feel the fabric on his shirt threatening to tear with every move. “Hazel…you’re my everything. Even before all of this…you were my everything. You’re my…” He paused. He remembered something that Mia had said to Xeik while he was staying with them.
It had been a few weeks after he had been turned into a wolf, and Xeik had been looking him over. He was talking it over with Hazel, and the two had discovered just how botched the hex was. Not only was it a complex spell, but it was one that was multiple hexes interwoven into one. As a healer, Xeik knew how to dispel a variety of hexes, and even multiple ones at once…but whatever had been done with this one had made it nearly impossible.
“It’s as if the ‘strands’ of the hex are…knotted,” Xeik tried to explain in simple terms for Rex. “You can pull at the individual strands, but they all lead to this massive knot that can’t be undone without intense precision. And there are repercussions if it’s done in the wrong order, too. It’s…really complicated.” The short version was that Xeik couldn’t fix it.
It was about this time that Rex had seen something, a messily drawn picture on Xeik’s desk. Rex barked at Hazel and Mia with a question. When it was translated to Xeik, he smiled.
“That? It’s a drawing Mia did for me. It was how she told me that she loved me. I’m her moon. She’s a lycanthrope, and the moon is everything to her. So, she was trying to tell me that I’m her everything.” The Divine Mender looked to Mia and smiled. “It was sweet.”
That all brought it back to where Rex was with Hazel. “You’re….like the moon to me. I need you…otherwise…” He was bumbling over his words. Did she understand? He nuzzled her as they climbed into bed. At her comment that he smelled like a wet dog, he wrinkled his nose. “And…you smell like a walking spice display…intense.” He agreed to take a bath the next day, though, and soon they fell asleep.
In the dead of night, Rex bolted up, eyes wide. He looked around, panicked, and then realized where he was. What he was. He took a breath, a deep calming breath, and sighed with relief. “I’m still me…” He yawned, and stretched out like a dog, arching his back on all fours. Then, he lifted his leg, reaching for his ear.
Wait… He paused. Sheepishly, he sat back down, and scratched his ear normally. This was going to take some getting used to…

“Rex! You have to stop fighting it!” Hazel kept up the spell just in case but even she was getting tired. Her getting tired turned into a problem once he regained his human form. Her eyes got big, “REX!” However, he was more like a predator as he overtook her easily now. He was so much stronger than before as he pinned her down and kissed him. Hazel even kissed him back at points but she was trying to resist. The no left her mouth and Rex stopped. She could see the struggle in his eyes.
“I know…” She pulled herself up and put her shawl around him. “I know Rex.” She hugged him close and kissed his forehead. “Let’s go home, Rex.” She brushed his long red hair with her fingers as she smiled. She helped him along and pulled out some of his old clothes for him. “I don’t know if they will fit… You’ve gained a lot of muscle now.”
Hazel thought he looked more delicious but she kept her thoughts to herself. “I meant to tell you… there are moments where a lycanthrope finds their mate so to speak… they get obsessed with them.” She blushed a bit. “I didn’t think… you would stay with me after this. So… I didn’t bring it up… That and I knew you would be really worried if you couldn’t stop yourself.”
Once he was dressed she pulled him into bed with her and snuggled up to him. He smelled bad though and a chuckle left her lips, “You smell like a wet dog now. You really need a bath tomorrow.”

It was another month before the final ritual took place. Rex had been patient, but when the night finally arrived, he was more nervous than anything. It was a large spell, and he was worried about what it would do to Hazel. Still the ritual went as planned, and soon Rex was enveloped in pure mana. And once it was done, he felt…nothing.
Rex barked a question, but before he could ask it fully, a sudden pain shot through him. He curled up on the ground, writhing in pain as his body fought against the sudden agony. Hazel called out to him, urging him to not resist against the magic, and he did the best he could. Rex wasn’t sure how long the transformation took in reality, but to him it felt like an eternity.
Finally, though, Rex felt something. His fingers. Toes. It was cold, but not unpleasant. There wasn’t fur to protect his flesh now. He shivered, realizing he was coated in sweat. But there was something else. He could still smell her. Hazel. She was intoxicating. He rolled over, revealing his naked form.
His eyes met hers, and without a second thought, he was up, pouncing on Hazel. His mouth met hers, forcing a passionate kiss as he pinned her down. Everything about her was practically screaming at Rex. All he wanted was her…to taste her, be with her, mate with her, make her his for now and forever. Another kiss, now mixed with pulling up the hem of her dress. It was now. He would get what he wanted…
What he needed.
Hazel was breathless. She wanted it too, but this wasn’t it. Not yet. Something told her it wasn’t right. It took her a moment to gather the willpower. She had to practically force the words from her lips.
“No.”
Rex stopped. He was panting hard. All it would take was a swift motion, and he would be where he wanted to be…where he needed to be. He could ignore her. Do it now.
But…
The new lycan let out a slow hiss, and rolled over, curling into a ball as he bit into his own arm. “Fucking fuuuucckkking FUCK!” he yelled. But it wasn’t at Hazel. It was at himself. Even she could tell that.
Rex was shivering, now realizing just how cold and exposed he was. “Can we…go home….” he said finally, without looking at her. He rolled over, looking at her. “S-sorry..I…..wasn’t….I didn’t mean…”
Author: Hazel, Posted: Mon Feb 22, 2021 8:24 PM, Post Subject: Life Finds a Way [P/R]
Simone tilted her head and tried to read it but she couldn’t. Color her surprised that Lucas could.
Hazel nodded to Lucas, “Yes, that’s exactly what it is. I don’t have a source for it at the moment but… what I actually need is the bare basics of what lycanthropy is. Once I have that I can make Rex’s very own lycan line.”
There was a pause and Hazel hugged herself, “As for the source of magic… I’ll use myself. I have it toned down right now but under the full moon, I’m stronger and have more access to my eldritch powers. That will be more than enough for this. Rex will become a progenitor. The very first of his kind.”
There was a look in her eye as she grabbed her shawl, “I need… you to watch Rex for a bit. I need to go somewhere and I can’t take him with me… Just… Please.” She bent down and kissed his nose. “Stay here. I’m taking the portal to Elysia.”
It was many hours later when Hazel came back with a small vial of blood. “I got it… I paid a price for it but I got it. Give me another month and I can turn Rex back to human. One month on the full moon.”
–
With all the math done, all the research done, everything set up. Hazel got asked to be left alone with Rex. “There’s a good chance that you’ll only recognize me, Rex. Okay?” She had him inside a circle with strange symbols. There were runes drawn down her arms in a strange luminescent paint. She looked up as the clouds began to part. “Okay, Rex… Let’s do this.”
She took the dagger and slid it across her hand. The sky around them turned an eerie green as did her eyes as she began to chant. Her blood hit the ground and she began to weave the curse of lycanthropy. Rex’s own version of lycanthropy. “No more a beast but now a man. On the full moon, you’ll return to your wolf until you are strong enough to resist the call of the mother moon. By day a man. By night a beast.” It was stupid but it was the key phrases in one of the original curses. A few keyword changes were all it needed.

While Hazel was doing her research, Rex was quite well behaved. For the most part, he simply sat next to Hazel. Occasionally, he would rest his head in her lap and ask for pets, but mostly he just stayed by her side and supported her the best he could. It was when she said that they needed to go to his parents house that he gave her a weird look, and without warning, he was thrown into a portal.
What greeted him was a small part of his family. Lucas and Ezili practically lived in the library, so it was no surprise to see them there, but Lewis and Simone were there as well. Apparently, Hazel wasn’t the only one doing research into fixing Rex. Hazel started to write down complex equations, and Lewis, Simone, and Rex all stared in confusion once she finished. She seemed content though.
Lucas, on the other hand, looked at the equation with concern. “Are you…sure?” The rest of the family looked at him.
“You can…read that?” Lewis asked. “What is it?”
“It’s a modification of an old curse. Lycanthropy. It’s…not like the current version at all. It’s like you’re trying to recreate it. But where are you getting the source? And the magical source? You’d have to have an insane amount of mana. Even more than Mom and Dad have.” Lucas frowned. “It’s solid in theory, but…no way to do it in practicality.”
Author: Hazel, Posted: Mon Feb 22, 2021 8:03 PM, Post Subject: Life Finds a Way [P/R]
“Yes, yes! I can fix it I just need time Rex.” She gave a smile and pet his head. There was laughter a bit, “I can move the bed down here unless you can make the jump into the loft… that or I can just lift you in using Jack… You are always welcome in my bed for cuddles.”
–
Once she had let out her secret Hazel blushed, “Rex, you are a wolf. That’s not right or okay.” He caught himself and she laughed as she rubbed his head and gave him more cuddles. “Yeah, our first time needs to be special.”
Once he gave her the pep talk she kissed his nose and thought about it, “Research. Which means we need to go to the library.”
After that Hazel spent a lot of time in the library. She had even talked Teulia into letting Rex in after the second straight day of her being there. Teulia said if he drooled on anything she was going to cut his nuts off. “No, no… He will be a good boy. I promise. Right, Rex? You won’t ruin the books?” Hazel gave him a serious look.
After a month of research, Hazel slammed her head into the table. “Gah, I can do it. I know I can…” She slid the chair out. “I can’t make you Rosenite again though.” She had a red mark on her forehead. “I wish there was…” It clicked. “We need to go to your parents’ house.”
She practically dragged Rex through a portal and into their library. “Hi, Simone. Hi, Lewis. Hi, Lucas. Hi, Ezili. Hi, Janus. Hi, Lila. HI, EVERYONE ELSE,” they were in a dead bolt to the library where she got chalk and began writing on Simone’s blackboard she used for teaching.
She was writing out a series of mathematical equations and symbols representing ancient witchcraft. “I think I got it.”

At the sight of Simone’s head snapping behind her, both Rex and Lewis merely stared in shock. Lewis knew that she was capable of it, but there was something…unnerving about seeing her that way. Still, it got the required effect, and Natayl went running home. Lewis noted which way she ran…perhaps she would receive a visit later that evening….
—
Once they got home, Rex was finally told what had happened. When Hazel put a mirror in front of him, there was a low whine followed by a lot of barking. He spun around once more, and let out a huff, laying down. This was going to get really hard to get used to. He let out another series of barks, looking at Hazel with puppy dog eyes. He was hopeful that she would still say yes. That much shouldn’t have changed.
–
Time as a wolf seemed to pass at a regular speed for Rex, which was a little bit surprising. He had gotten used to walking and running, but there was a little bit of a learning curve when it came to scratching the itch behind his ear. Hazel had been accommodating of course, and human food seemed not to bother him. And, being smart and all, he had already figured out doors.
When Hazel threw herself on the floor next to him, he rolled over into her. He liked feeling her presence, even in this form. It made him feel comforted. When he heard that she was going to have sex with him, though, he let out a whine, and followed up with a bark. He rolled back over and started to bark, nosing her.
There was a huff when she gave the expected answer. He let out a whine, followed by murmured barks. He rolled over, and let out an obnoxious yowl. Despite this, though, in a few moments his tail was thumping against the floor, and he rolled back onto his stomach, barking at Hazel.

Hazel frowned a bit and pet Rex some more. Simone hugged him tightly and looked like she was going to choke him. “My handsome boy. My poor handsome boy,” Simone wailed a bit as she snapped her head in the direction of Natayl. “GET LOST,” Simone breathed fire in the girl’s direction as she got up and ran.
“Um, Simone… your head…”
Simone realized her head was doing what an owl normally did and she turned her head back and blinked. “I’m becoming more like a bird every fucking day.” She hugged Rex to her more. “Please, take care of Rex… I feel like the kids would torment him.”
–
Once Simone and Lewis were gone Hazel took Rex inside the house. “I don’t know how to tell you this… I don’t think you’ve noticed but…” She got a mirror and put it down so Rex could see his whole self. “But you’re a wolf now… I have to undo the hex on you. I can understand you though I promise. I just didn’t want to freak you out in front of Simone… She’s already pretty pissed.”
–
A week or two later Hazel threw herself on the floor next to Rex, “I can’t undo the hex on you…” She pouted before almost throwing a tantrum. “I was going to have sex with you that night and she fucked everything up.” She rolled on her stomach and looked at Rex. “I really hate that woman. She’s an inconvenience.”

Normally, Lewis would have enjoyed watching Simone beat the living shit out of someone, but today was a slightly different day. Rex seemed confused as to what was happening, and was barking and yelping. Lewis looked at Rex and nodded.
“Yes, I know. It’s weird. I’m sure you’ll get used to it,” Lewis said as he looked at Natayl and Simone. There were more barks from Rex. “Yeah, I know..I really should stop your mother from committing murder in the streets…but I kinda want to-” Another, sharp bark. “Fine, fine…” He ran up to Simone, and pulled her off of the young woman who had cursed Rex.
Rex was confused. Everything was larger than he was now, and for some reason he couldn’t talk normally, though Lewis seemed to know what he was saying. For the most part, at least. He let out a series of barks at Simone as he trotted over. He seemed to stumble a bit, unsure of his legs.
As Hazel came over and started to rub his fur, he let out a weird whine and a few yaps. He seemed happy, though, when Hazel rubbed his fur. He let out another series of barks. He spun around in a circle and then sat down, staring at Hazel.

Hazel was happy with Rex and she even blushed when he appeared worried for her. However, when the green hooded figure showed up she instantly went on the defensive as soon as she could. “Rex?!” She didn’t have time to look for him as she got ready to defend herself.
“A hex?” Hazel blinked a bit as she saw the wolf now get between her and Natayl. “Don’t hurt him Natayl!”
“DON’T YOU EVER LET MY NAME LEAVE THAT FILTHY MOUTH OF YOURS,” she blew up at Hazel.
“You thought a hex would work on me?” Hazel was laughing and there was a smile on her face, “I almost wish it had hit me but no you had to go and hit Rex.” She went to fire her own magic but before she could a black bird with blue flames came out of nowhere and attacked the girl.
Lewis came running behind her, “Simone saw Rex’s vitals go weird so we rushed over.”
The bird transformed into Simone and she was on top of Natayl as she began to punch the girl over and over until Lewis had to pull her up, “You should be considering yourself fucking lucky I don’t kill you right now!” Simone was screaming and struggling as Lewis held her back. He was just as pissed as she was.
“WAIT,” Hazel got in between the hurt girl and Simone and Lewis. “I can fix Rex but… Natayl shouldn’t die. That will just make things worse for Rex and me.” Her eyes stared at Simone until she calmed down.
“What the hell did she do to my boy?” Simone dropped down and held her arms out to the wolf. “Come here Rex, please? I just want to make sure you are okay. And what do you mean you wish it hit you?!"
"Well… I ward myself daily against hexes and the like because of my job… It wouldn't have worked and she would have looked stupid." Hazel came close to Rex as well and lovingly rubbed his fur. "I'll fix you."

At her surprise to him not licking it off, Rex smiled deviously. “Oh, I know what fruit I could lick later…” It was horrible, but for some reason Hazel thought it was amusing. “And of course I love your curry,” he replied quickly. “It’s delicious. Everything you make is delicious. Silva makes good curry too, but yours has a…I don't know…a twist? It’s tasty…I like it.”
The rest of the shopping went well, and soon they started to head back. Rex was carrying most of the heavy stuff, and talking with Hazel about the prices of things and if she was okay on money. He was worried she might have to go on another job soon, and he knew he needed to prepare. He was still no closer to getting stronger, though.
For a moment, everything seemed fine. But something felt…wrong. Rex saw a brief flash of green, and instinct took over. He slammed his shoulder into Hazel, knocking her to the ground before getting blasted square in the chest with a powerful green burst of magic. The impact knocked him back a few feet, leaving Hazel confused.
“What a waste…” a sultry voice called out. A figure walked out from the shadows of an alley, draped in a hooded green robe. The voice, though, was easy to identify. “The damned woman said it only had one charge. And here I was hoping it would have been used on you…” She was close to Hazel, now. “I guess I can settle for a dagger to the throat, though. No one will miss you, bitc-”
A shadow leapt from behind Hazel, and slammed into the green robed girl, knocking her to the ground. The hood fell back, revealing Natayl.
“What the hell!?” Natayl called out in anger.
There was a spine tingling growl as a crimson red wolf lowered itself, baring its razor sharp teeth. The ends of its hairs stood on end, but it was clear that it only had eyes on Natayl. As the girl stood up, its eyes never wavered. When she moved, it moved to stand between her and Hazel.
“You mangy fucking dog,” she yelled, lunging with a kick. The wolf tried to bite, but seemed to miss. The kick hit it, and with a yelp, the wolf seemed to rethink its position for a moment. “Get the fuck away, you…” Her eyes widened. “Oh…oh that bitch…she fucked up the spell…” Still, she seemed amused. “Oh but…this is almost too precious…” Now she was laughing. “Yes…that’s appropriate for you, isn’t it? A mangy dog…”

Hazel smiled up at him and took his hand, “Fine, fine…” She took a bite from the fruit and chuckled as he scolded her playfully. “I’m sorry that I’m such a messy eater.” She bumped his hip with her own as he cleaned her face. “Surprised you didn’t lick it off.”
“You’ve been favoring curry lately.” She took his other hand once the fruit was done and was walking backward pulling him. “You like it when I cook?” She was becoming comfortable in public ever since Rex showed up. She kissed him lightly before letting go of one hand and walking next to him.
“To the spice man,” she found the people more willing to sell her things as long as Rex was with her, and slowly they were getting more comfortable with her. She took a deep breath as she dealt with the merchants.
They got everything they needed and were on their way back. “Hey, Rex?” Hazel’s eyes were full of giddy energy. “What if you think… if we…tr–”
While she was flirting with Rex there was a blast of eerie green magic headed their way and somehow Hazel ended up on the ground. She was dizzy, not sure of what was going on.

There was an awkward silence between the two when Hazel left. Rex and Xeik had just been talking about how it would be a good idea to talk it through, and here it was, the perfect opportunity to do so. The teen opened his mouth to say something.
“Rex,” Rhenakos said as he looked down at the table. “I… I’m sorry I wasn’t there for you, or for your mother. I had no idea what had happened, and if I had known….” He paused. “No. I can’t lie like that. The reality is, even if I had known, I don’t think I could have done anything. I was wrapped up in my open shit for so long that I can’t believe Osiria even managed to get through to me.”
Rex was surprised at the sudden information that Rhenakos was giving. Still, nothing of what Rhenakos had said really changed anything.
“I’m a shit parent,” the demon hunter admitted. “I’ve done what I can for Izzy…and Reva. Hell…I’ve even taught Hazel a few things, but…” He sighed. “The reality is that I couldn’t handle being a parent. Hell, I can’t even handle it now, but I don’t really have a choice.” He looked up finally, meeting Rex’s gaze. “So I’m sorry…”
Rex had never felt so awkward. “You’re sorry…” The words that he had wanted to say seemed to slip away. The chance that he had to lay it all out was slowly fading, and suddenly the boy didn’t feel quite so bold. “Well…at least I have a real father now, to take care of me.” The words weren’t meant to be said in malice, but they seemed to hang heavy in the air.
“Oh. Right…” Rhenakos said after a moment. “Well…you’re doing well for yourself. And Lewis does provide a good home…”
Hazel came up, offering the herbs that she had gotten. Rex nodded, and went out to retrieve the remaining things that Rhenakos had asked for. The two didn’t say another word to each other, and Rhenakos left with a quick thanks to Hazel.
When Hazel asked what was wrong, Rex seemed to look away. “I…just need time to think.” That was the only answer she would get, no matter how hard she tried.

Days turned into weeks, and then into months. Time passed, and soon the weather started to turn hotter. It was on one of these rather hot days that Rex and Hazel made a trip into town. For the most part, the glares they got as outcasts seemed to wane. There were more important matters to attend to than to waste time on nothings like them, and instead it was a focus on trade. With the season changing, it meant a boom in business.
“Okay, Hazel,” Rex said as he offered her a fruit. “I know you missed breakfast, so eat this please.” He held it up in front of her, letting her take a bite. “And here… “ He wiped the juice from her chin. “Such a mess…” He smiled as they left the stall. “Okay. you need more flour, and we need to visit the butcher. Oh, and the curry spices…”

She nodded a bit, “I think I have some of this one down in the cellar.” She was looking over the list. “Yeah, he wanted to help me more so I would eat and brush my hair. He’s been working really hard.” Now that one looked at her Hazel’s hair had gotten quite a bit longer in the past few months thanks to Rex helping her.
Once Rhenakos called Hazel the slut whisperer she choked on her tea and looked up at Xeik, “Okay, tell me when you want us to stop by Elysia…” She knew that Rhenakos was eccentric. He always had been.
Now that a chair had been freed Hazel went to move but she found herself laughing at Rex as he pulled her tighter, “Nah…” Rex laughed as he pushed the chair away.
“Fine. Fine,” Hazel gave in and she watched Rhenakos. “We should be able to go do it right now if you want to wait. Let me go see what’s down in the cellar.” She took the time to kiss Rex before heading back down. She figured a kiss was going to be the only way to actually getaway.
Coming back up she nodded a bit, “So, all I have are these ones but Rex knows where the other ones are. We just had to retrieve some for someone else the other day. He’s been insistent I do not work so hard these days.”

The house was definitely getting crowded, but Rex was fine with it. With the limited amount of space, that meant that Hazel should sit in his lap, and with that decided, he pulled her into his lap with a satisfied grin.
Rhenakos sat down across from the happy couple, and nodded to Xeik. “Evening,” he said. “Just got a few things,” the demon hunter said as he listed off a variety of herbs that were used in smoking out demons. “I don’t need them immediately, so I can pick them up next week if need be.”
Xeik leaned back in his chair and sipped his tea. “Rex can probably get them after his break. It looks like he gathered up everything I asked for without Hazel’s help. It was quite impressive.” He smiled at Rex. “You catch on quickly with the names and associations. It’s not an easy thing to do.”
Rhenakos looked at Rex with a curious gaze, and then to Hazel. “You got him to do that? And to dump all of his old girls…and start to consider settling down?”
“I guess?” Hazel replied.
The demon hunter gave a half smirk. “I’m impressed. You’re like a slut whisperer or something.” He had heard the term used about for other things, and thought it applied here quite well.
Xeik about choked in the tea he was sipping. “Okay…with that, I need to go…”

“Oh okay! I told Rex we should go see Angela’s beach sometime anyway. It would be a change of pace and people don’t look at me weird that.” Hazel sipped on the tea and looked pleased with it. “Yeah, it’s been a lot easier getting the things I need since Rex started to take me to Benin and Simone grows a lot of different stuff because she’s bored.”
Getting up Hazel went to go get some fruits and plopped them down, “Afraid in the terms of snacks I don’t have anything fancy just these. The trees are finally in season. Pawpaws.” That was when she saw a flash of red outside.
“Speaking of… things that happen once in a while…” Hazel opened the door to Rhenakos getting ready to knock. “You can come in… I made tea.”
This house was feeling crowded but at least they were sitting around the table this time. Three chairs but Rex was quick to pull her down onto his lap. He could be a chair and he was happy to do so. It just got a blush out of her. “What kind of hunting stuff do you need?” She didn’t know what else Rhenakos could be coming to her for.

When Hazel went downstairs to the root cellar, Rex realized that he had been left alone with Xeik. Other than the usual Terrowin checkups, the two really hadn’t had too many conversations.
“So…how’s Rhenakos?” Rex asked finally. “Do you see him often?”
“No, not really. He lives in Jayou, so he tends to go to Leilah over the smaller stuff. I’ve seen Reva, though. She’s doing well. Quite the healthy and happy baby,” Xeik said with a smirk. “Rhenakos and Osiria have really turned themselves around. Sure, they still argue a bit, but whenever I see them with Reva, they’re almost entirely different people.
Rex frowned. “You sure? Izzy still isn’t really happy about it. She’s jealous of Reva. Thinks they love her more than her.”
“Yes, well…” Xeik sighed. “They love Izori a lot, but it’s really a simple matter.” The healer knew a few things about the girl that weren’t public knowledge. “Let’s just say…for simple terms, Izori is much stronger than Reva is, and it’s quite difficult to keep her in check if she goes off. Coupled with Rhenakos’ temper…”
“Still, he could have tried harder,” Rex snapped back.
Xeik sighed, “Well…maybe that’s a discussion that you need to have with Rhenakos. Anything I say probably won’t matter.” He didn’t say it in a bad way, but once the words came out, Rex realized what was happening.
“…sorry, Xeik. I don’t mean to…get mad.”
“Just…talk to him when you’re ready. But…remember that he’s in a high risk job. You decide when you’re ready, but…you may miss out on your chance.”
Rex was going to say something when Hazel returned and started to make tea for everyone.
Xeik shook his head at Hazel’s question, “I don’t need to weigh you. I can tell that you’re healthy at the moment. I’m not too worried. It’s nice for the records but not a requirement. Next time, though, I’ll probably have you come to Elysia for the check up. I want to make sure you and Jack are okay, and that requires a little extra.” He took a sip of the tea. “It’s delicious. Simone does grow some amazing herbs and spices, doesn’t she?”
“So…” Rex said as he leaned back in his chair. “That’s it then? You’re done with the check up?”
The Divine Mender nodded, “I am. Unless you want me to check up on you.”
“Nooo thanks,” Rex replied flatly. “I’m good…”

Hazel was feeding Jack some sardines that Rex had brought back from town. The Eldritch being seemed happy enough with the offerings. “He stopped growling at Rex about a month ago but… It took a lot of sardines.”
She was blushing by the end of it and nodded, “He’s… important to me too.” Hazel got concerned as she got up. “The chickens are going to start rolling because of her… I’ve said it once and I’ll say it again. You are giving them the right amount… Maybe spending every three days at your parents and not coming here to do chores is a bad thing…” She helped him sit before she grabbed some herbs and started to pull the briars off and rub his legs in the soak.
“How does that feel?” Once she got the briars out she got up and got a basket. “I’m going to go down into the root cellar and get some tea to make us… Behave,” she booped Rex’s nose before she went outside and down the stairs.
Coming back up she had a nice bag of tea, “I just made this out of some of Simone’s plants. I think it turned out pretty good.” Hazel was proud of herself as she set to brewing the tea and handing it out. “Did you want to weigh me by the way? It has been a while but I feel like I’ve been on weight a little. Rex said I’m a little heavier to pick up but not in a bad way.”

As Rex went off to find the herbs, Ceik and Hazel sat down at one of her small tables.
“Hello, Jack,” Xeik said with a smile as he pulled out a piece of parchment. “All right, then.” He started to write down some basic information, and then looked up.
“Miss Hazel Black. You’re, seventeen, right?” He looked up to see her nod. “Right.” Another couple of scribbles. “Now for the annoying things. Have you weighed yourself recently? How have you been eating? You mentioned nightmares. Have you been sleeping okay?”
Hazel waited for him to finish his initial barrage of questions, and started with the first. “No, not recently. Rex has been making me eat three times a day. I’ve been sleeping decently. Normally Rex stays and wakes me up if the nightmares start. It’s exhausting when they do…”
Xeik nodded and had been writing the entire time Hazel had been speaking. “Ah yes, and on the subject of Rex. Are you two sexually active?”
Hazel knew she had to answer truthfully. After all, Xeik was only trying to help. “We haven’t had sex. We’ve done…other stuff, but not sex.”
“Got it,” Xeik said as he started to write. “Sexually acti-” The notes stopped. “Wait. What?”
“We…haven’t had sex?’ Hazel replied.
“You and Rex…haven’t…” He looked down at his notes. “All right…I think Rex is in need of a check up. He might have a head injury of some kind..”
“I mean, he gropes me a lot,” Hazel replied, blushing.
“That was a joke, Hazel,” Xeik replied.
“Oh…”
Xeik smiled, “It’s okay, Hazel. Rex is…well, he’s not acting like his usual self. That’s not a bad thing, but it is surprising to us who have come to expect a certain behavior. The fact that it has changed means that you’re important to him.” The Divine Mender started to write more, and then asked a few more questions. Hazel answered them, and during the last question, Rex came back with a small basket of herbs.
“Got everything,” Rex said with a smile. On his left legs were a lot of briars. “I…uh…mostly avoided the briar patch. But I didn’t fall in it this time.” He glanced outside. “I think the chickens are mad at me since I don’t feed them as much as your mom does…”

Hazel wasn’t shocked that her mother asked Xeik to stop by. She could be unstable especially with what happened and she gave a mischievous smile as Xeik clowned Rex a little. “Thank you! It’s been really slow but good.” Days, where she had been so bored, were now filled with Rex entertaining her.
Looking over at what Rex was reading Hazel nodded, “Yeah, you can go get it but don’t get caught in the briar patch again… It took me all day to get all of it off of you.” She kissed him lightly as he took off and blushed lightly as she knew that Xeik was going to start hounding her now.
“Go ahead and ask what you want to ask,” Hazel was almost laughing which wasn’t normal for her. She got the plush and brought him in for the check-up too. “Jack has been happy lately too but the… incident a few months ago put him on edge. I started to have nightmares again.” Hazel explained what they had gone through with Natayl.

Rex was just about to do something even naughtier, when there was a sudden knock at the door. With a reaction speed that Rex couldn’t even follow, his hand was smacked with a wooden spoon as she called out who was there.
“Xeik,” a voice called out from outside. “Here for a few things.”
“Uncle Xeik?’ Rex asked as Hazel gave him permission to enter.
Surely enough, the Divine Mender strolled in with a small paper list and a smile. “Good afternoon, Hazel. I’m here to pick up some herbs and do a checkup. Your mother made the request a few weeks ago but my schedule has been full. I can slide you in today if you have the time.” He paused, and looked to Rex. “Ah, so Lewis wasn’t pulling my leg. I’m…surprised at the very least, Rex. But not as surprised as I am about you, Hazel.” His smile never wavered. “Well, I’m happy for you.”
He passed the list over to Rex, who started reading it off. “Hey, Hazel. I know what most of this is…I can gather it together while you do the check up, if you want.” In the past few months, he had taken up trying to learn what Hazel did. While he was rather inept at the actual brewing, he was pretty good with memorizing the names and associating them with the herbs.
“That sounds great, Rex. If Hazel is okay with it?” Xeik asked.

Hazel curled up into Rex and she frowned a bit, “Maybe but that would just be running away wouldn’t it? My business is here… My life. All of it. I don’t hate this place… I just hate how I’m treated. I keep going back and forth on whether or not this place is my home… It is.”
She pushed her head up under his chin and made herself calm down and center herself. The squid plush nearby was growling at the situation. He was upset that Hazel was unstable, “Jack… You need to calm down.” Her voice sounded so dead but still… She hugged herself to him even more tightly. “I’ll make it I swear Rex… Just have to endure it. How long can she actually stay mad if she has so many people at her beck and call?”
Two months passed and things were seemingly better. Mostly because if she wasn’t in the shack she was in Benin with Rex. The glares from Alice were hysterical but she was mostly harmless. Today she was working on a brew. “If you don’t stop you are going to mess me up,” she joked towards Rex who was wrapped around her.
He was in a particularly naughty mood too and Hazel let out a small noise as he nipped her neck. “Your teasing is going to get you into trouble someday.” She reached up and when she couldn’t get what she needed Rex lifted up lightly if only to perv some more. Setting her back down she added it into the cauldron.
For the most part, Hazel let him do whatever he wanted as long as it stayed within the original boundary they had set and it was hard… Trying to decide just went she wanted to cross it but she felt with due time, sooner than later, that she was going to give in.

It was really impressive how the Terrowin family continued to draw such important and powerful people around it, and the appearance of Bryony merely proved that fact. Natayl was stunned, but not as stunned as Rex was. They had only met once, and briefly, before Rex had been sent on his way. Now, Hazel’s mother was standing between them and Natayl, offering up solid reasoning on how it was more his city than it was Natayl’s. Natayl left in a furious fashion, leaving Bryony and her daughter alone with Rex. “That was…impressive,” Rex said as he bowed a little in respect. He wasn’t entirely sure how to address Bryony at the moment, and something in the back of his mind told him that joking around with her probably wasn't the best course of action. Even he wasn't that stupid.Bryony was able to get a small laugh out of Hazel, and Rex smiled too. He just wanted her to be okay. "Yes 'mam!" Rex said, snapping to attention at her request to take Hazel home. Much to Rex's surprise, getting out of Sularia wasn't too stressful. For the most part, they avoided the larger crowds and ignored any of the rude stares they were given, and soon they were back at the cottage.Rex wasn't sure what to do other than hold Hazel, and when she brought him to her loft, all they could do was lay there. Normally, Rex would have been estastic to be in bed with her, but this…"Hazel…" Rex said, merely holding her close. "I wish I knew what to do." The teen closed his eyes. "If only you could live on the island with us. I'm sure Lew…Pops wouldn't care, and Mom would adore having you around."

Hazel almost panicked at having her shawl taken but she stood her ground if only not to make things more volatile. She took the stinging words but Rex’s words made her smile a bit.
“What the fuck are you smiling at?”
“Not you… that’s for fucking sure,” Hazel said it almost too softly but once Rex said he was ready to go Hazel held out her hand and Rex took it. “You are wrong Natayl… He’s not going to get bored of me. If he was going to… He already would have.” They had something she knew that much and she wanted to find out more.
“I don’t want to see you back in my city!” Natayl yelled.
Above her, a glaive came down and almost stabbed Natayl. “WHAT THE FUCK!” The girl yelled looking up and suddenly she looked like she saw a ghost. “Lady Bryony…”
“Your city? Last time I checked this was the Rose family city. Last time I checked Rex was Angela’s step-grandson… This is HIS city.” Bryony glared down at Natayl. “Get lost before I ask to have your father’s businesses revoked.” The woman was terrifying.
Bryony dropped down from the high building and landed taking her glaive out of the ground as Natayl took off. “You shouldn’t take that Hazel.”
“You know what happened last time,” Hazel frowned. “I don’t… I can’t.” She was shaking now. Bryony picked up Hazel’s shawl and threw it to Rex to put around her.
“I’m happy for you both but it will be a hard road. I won’t be able to always keep watch and she seems like a vindictive bitch. Just be careful,” Bryony gave a smile. “I think I made your chickens fat.”
“Please don’t tell me they are rolling around now…” The little joke got a laugh out of Bryony as Hazel told it.
“Rex, take her out of the city, please. She looks like she’s going to pass out from nerves.” The mother was at least honest as she disappeared from sight.
Once Hazel and Rex were back at the cottage… Hazel threw herself into his chest and started to cry. “I hate it here. I hate them. This is my home too.” She was still a teenage girl underneath it all. She was sensitive and timid. She pulled him up into the loft where she just laid with him. “I don’t really care about what she said… It was the slap. I… Ugh. Maybe it’s payback for the Alice thing.”

Rex was getting annoyed with Natayl’s attitude, but he could handle her. It was when she started to go directly after Hazel that it went from annoying to rage inducing. The moment she slapped Hazel, Rex’s entire demeanor changed. His eyes glared at her as she tried to use her sugar coated words to convince Rex to leave Hazel.
“Oh…oh this is priceless,” Natayl said as she noticed Rex’s behavior. “You want that
thing more than you want me?” She walked over to Hazel, and ripped the shawl off of her head, throwing it to the ground. “You want this…over me?” She leaned down, her breasts practically falling out of the small top she was wearing.
“Rex…you’re so much cuter when you keep your mouth shut and just fuck, you know?” she whispered. “But if my body isn’t enough…I have money…servants…the entire of Sularia is my oyster. This vile beast that you dare call a woman…that you dare fraternize with…” She gave a venomous look to Hazel. “Has nothing.”
“She has a smile a like,” Rex said, clenching his teeth. “And a nice laugh. She’s smart…not just street smart, but actually knows her shit. She can fight too. I’ve seen it….she’s beautiful to me, and you? You’re a fucking joke. I’m not smart. Hell, I’m a fucking dumbass. But at least I know better than to throw my father’s status and money around like it’s mine. What would you be without it?”
Natayl gasped, pretending to be offended. “Oh no, the idiot street rat with the good looks thinks I care.” She dropped the act almost immediately. “I can have anyone in this city in my bed tonight. I feel sorry for you, Rex…I chose you, but you’ve squandered it.” She yawned, “It’s a shame. You were a really good lay too. I’ll miss it.” She looked to Hazel, “You and this…filth can go.” She smiled cruelly. “Oh…but little beastie…he’ll get tired of you. And when he does…he’ll come crawling back to me. I might take him back…on the condition that he trashes your little cottage…”
“You hear that, Rex?” she said. “If you want me back…you know just what to do.”
“Hazel…” Rex said through gritted teeth. “We can go now. Before I decide that hitting a girl isn’t beneath me.”

“That’s all I ask of you,” Simone ruffled his hair and kissed his forehead before she headed home.
Hazel took his hand and gave him a squeeze. She saw the side evil eye her way and she looked away innocently with a smile. Hazel was back in her own dress after practically being wrestled out of it. It was more like a saree and she had her shawl up over her head. She wasn’t comfortable with everyone seeing her but Rex kept her safe.
Natayl was going to be a problem for Hazel. She knew that and she was almost disheartened at it all. Here in Sularia was different from Benin. She didn’t feel like she had the same kind of power here in these streets. The feeling of helplessness washed over her as she took off after them.
“No, he doesn’t,” Hazel spoke up though her voice was much timider than that back in Benin. “Please leave him be. He doesn’t want you anymore.”
Natayl just looked towards Hazel, “You don’t get to tell me what I can and cannot have.”
“He’s not an object to possess,” Hazel fired back and Natayl let out an exhausted sigh.
“Why did you have to pick a stray of all things? It makes me feel dirty…” She tickled under Rex’s chin before she went and slapped Hazel across her face. Just like Hazel thought… She was just going to take the abuse. “Rex is just going to get dragged down by you. No one even wants to touch you, not even Rex. Come on now… We can go back to my place. This creature can get out of Sularia now before I tell my brothers.”
Hazel clenched her teeth and her fists but she suddenly just let it go like she had lost the fight already. She was terrified.

When Simone pulled Rex aside, he was expecting another conversation about sex, but what he got was a lot different. He had seen Simone try to get close to each of the kids when they were feeling down, but Rex had fought back against that idea from day one. Simone had seemed to catch on, but it seems as though Hazel talking to her had re-invigorated her efforts to make sure Rex was okay.
“Sim-, Mom…don’t…” He grumbled as she pet his hair. “I just…I want to fix things on my own. I’ve always only ever relied on myself. So I…” He glanced over and saw Hazel, and sighed. “Fine…I guess I can…ask for help more often.” The boy took a deep breath, and sighed. “Thanks…Mom…”
He waved goodbye to her, and started back to Hazel, taking her hand. He gave her a bit of side eye for telling Simone, but in the end, he was already well on his way to forgiving her.
The streets of Sularia were busy as always, and the heat today was something else. Knowing the weather, Rex had chosen to wear a rather simple outfit again, choosing his usual sleeveless tunic and short pants combo to keep cool. He was tolerating the sweaty hands though, because he wanted to show support to Hazel as they walked through Sularia.
Already, he could feel the gazes on him. Soon, though, there was one in particular.
Natayl.
The girl was the daughter of a rather prominent figure in the Yellow District, and she knew how to throw that weight around. Her ‘allowance’ bought her lavish outfits and ‘toys’, though her choice of word was questionable when it came to taste. It was on this particular day that the dark skinned beauty was wearing an elegant, sky blue silk and silver sarong, showing off her curves. Natayl had a rather large man, probably twice her age following her. He was carrying a bag; probably for Natayl.
“Samson…” Natayl said as she spotted Rex and Hazel in the crowd. “Be a dear fiance, and go fetch me some water. I spy a plaything that I want to torment…” She approached the couple, and immediately took Rex and dragged him into the nearest alley, leaving Hazel to follow.
“My, my, Rex…” Natayl said as she looked him up and down. “It looks like you went on an adventure of sorts. I could use you tonight…maybe we can work off some of that tension.” Without waiting for an answer, she glanced to Hazel. “Though…I’ll need you to ditch the undesirable. I can’t let it be known that my boy toy is associating with…her kind.”
Rex yanked his hand away from her. “Natayl…glad we could meet like this. I’m uh…ending our relationship here.”
“Excuse me…?” she said, raising an eyebrow. “Oh I see. She must have put you up to this. Threatened you? Put you under a spell.” Natayl got coy, and started to bat her eyelashes. “Do you need me to break the spell with a hot and heavy session?”

Hazel and Rex walked through the portal Lewis made them hand in hand. Though Rex was stopped by Simone who had his sleeve. “Can I borrow him a moment?”
“Of course,” Hazel bowed to her, kissed Rex, and found a barrel to sit on in the corner while Simone had a few words with her son.
“You shouldn’t ever doubt yourself, Rex,” Simone’s eyes were full of worry as she closed the portal behind her so they had a bit of privacy from the terrorists known as his younger siblings. Simone took him in for a young and kissed his forehead.
“You are one of my precious children and I don’t ever want you feeling like you don’t matter or that you aren’t good enough.” She pet his hair. “Don’t get mad at her for telling me… She was worried about you and honestly, I’ve known for a while something was wrong. The next time you feel like that please don’t to me. I’ll tell Lewis to fuck off even… It can just be the two of us. I promise.”
