Three floors full of treats had been explored, and now it was time to go through the wonders all over again. This time, Myouga would take her time instead of trying to cram all the food in. She had swiped a few empty bottles and was now heading back to the Canelux level so she could bring back some souvenirs for her mom and dad. Oh, and maybe one for Yabashira too. He probably didn't get much time to walk around while running that shop of his. Even if business was slow, he'd stay inside in case somebody needed a few things. And so, she was back in the edible autumnal forest when she saw people moving towards the railing. Everybody was excited, and naturally she wanted to see. "Hey what's going on?" She asked a kid who got smushed in next to her.
"They're gonna cut the cake! The big one!" Her jaw dropped and her eyes went wide. "No way! Really?! Finally–I mean, I can't wait!" She'd been itching to have a look at the insides of the tower of torte, and of course–a sample for 'research'.
From the top of the dome, a figure descended upon the cake and with a swift slash, pieces were being removed. A huge line was forming at the ground floor as people were picking what layer they wanted to have first. It was like bidding day at the market, except people were hollering for cake pieces instead of tuna. She got one from the Onnen themed part, and took a seat where she could watch the massive cake slowly get disassembled while she ate. It was delicious, and with a glass of some fancy wine, life was good. "I wonder if they're gonna do thish nexsht year." The little arcanist mused aloud, busily stuffing her cheeks with the cake's moist baked insides.

When the person who was drinking from the fountain ran off, Nui found herself losing against her desire to start snacking. Maybe she should just…have a little. Yeah, just one cookie wouldn't hurt right? While she was supposedly sneaking a cookie, she kept smelling a whole lot of sweets but couldn't figure out where they were coming from. That was when she saw the ferrets
eating the trees. As in literally eating the trees! There were several ferrets in different coat patterns and colors all outfitted in vests gnawing away at the plants in the 'forest'. With their excellent climbing skills, some of them were even stripping the branches bare of leaves! "Hey! Hey stop that! You're gonna fall–" The branch that three hobs were greedily chewing broke under their weight, and the fox's eyes went wide in a panic. She wasn't going to make it in time! Unless…
"C'mon, don't fail me now!" With little time to think, Nui threw a teleportation talisman as hard as she could towards the ferrets. In the blink of an eye, she disappeared and reappeared with the painted piece of paper under her feet. Leaping high, she grit her teeth and held out her hands as the three little fuzzballs and the edible branch came crashing down. "OW!" The next thing she knew, she was on the ground and there were leaves everywhere. There was a strong smell of chocolate around her and there was something on her back. The dooking of ferrets were in her ears as she looked up and saw one of them looking down from the top of her head. "Ugh…ouch. Well at least the branch didn't fall on me." Pushing herself up, the ferrets slid off and ran away leaving her covered in leaves and feeling extremely embarrassed. As one leaf felt onto her nose, she blew if off in a huff. Shaking the mess of twigs and leaves off of her, when she picked one up it started to melt between her fingers. "Wait, what?"
Leaves shouldn't melt, even if they were fake. As she tried to clean up the mess on her hand, she noticed the bright oranges, reds, and yellows began to give way to a familiar rich dark brown. Her eyes lit up and her tails stood on end. "Hey wait a minute! This is chocolate?!" Throwing a look of shock at the tree, she saw that the broken part of the branch had a swirl pattern that definitely wasn't from any tree she knew. In fact, it kind of looked like a cake roll! And the chocolate 'bark' was the thing that hid all of these details. "No way! Seriously?! These trees are made of food?!!" Looks like that weirdo drinking from the fountain might not be so weird after all. There was no way to fix the damage, so there was only one way to clean things up. "Don't mind if I do!" She said, before taking a big bite out of the fallen branch. The cracking of the chocolate shell gave way to the soft and slightly dry cake underneath. "Mmmm! It's coffee!" With lips smeared with chocolate, Nui started digging in.

She had waited patiently like a cat, watching and acting nonchalant until everybody on the floor had at least taken a look at the fountains. But the moment when all heads were turned, she was off to the races. Wriggling her way in between the fountains, she stuck her head directly beneath the cornucopia of one figure and let the liquid pour straight into her mouth. Normally this would mean the rest of the pool of alcohol below would be completely ruined, but Myouga's ability to guzzle down as fast as the wine was pouring made it so nothing spilled. And so, she was not-so-discreetly siphoning hard cider straight into her stomach. She had been blissfully drinking her fill when she noticed she wasn't as 'invisible' as she had thought. There was a fox girl staring straight at her while oak-barrel aged bourbon was filling her mouth. Taking a large gulp, the little arcanist ducked out from beneath the fountain spout and quickly wiped her lips with the back of her hand. Well that was awkward. Smacking her lips, she felt it was high time she got herself some refreshments to chase down that drink.
Helping herself to a nice plate of syrupy boiled fruit, this was merely the appetizer to the multi-course meal she was going to make of this party's buffet. The poached pears weren't bad, but she was feeling like she needed something with a bit more…substance. Something like…
"Caaaaake!" A small high pitched voice spoke the very word she was thinking of out loud, and Myouga looked around. There were a pair of ferrets who were happily gnawing on a fallen branch of one of the floor's trees. Upon closer inspection, said branch was actually a cleverly disguised cake roll coated in a thick layer of solid chocolate bark. The spot the branch came from revealed the tell-tale swirl of sponge and filling, and a silly grin began to spread across her face. "No way! That's so cool! The trees are totally edible too?!" Wiggling her fingers in anticipation, she took out her blade of dancing heat and began to press it against the exposed portion of the tree's trunk. The thick chocolate layer began to melt with a hiss, as the enchanted blade passed through onto the layer of sponge. The faint aroma of orange zest and almond wafted up as the blade came through out the other side, clean. With a slightly toasted piece of swiss roll cake in her hands, she began munching. "Mmm! Sho gud! Itsh tastes like vanilla and orange liquor." The toasting even brought out the flavor of the almonds too.

"SO. MUCH. SUGAR." Nui had spent hours shampooing her tails and brushing her fur until it was perfectly fluffy. All dressed up in one of her best outfits, she added a matching hairpin and she was ready to go. Normally she went in her favorite kimono for events like these, but after Kite gave her a dress specially tailored for her, she finally had a reason to wear it. It was a struggle for the fox–it was her best set in her wardrobe, but then she would feel it felt too nice to wear. The indecision was killing her, so she decided to stop overthinking things and just go through with it. As soon as she was in through the door, all of her fur stood on end as she was hit by a flood of delicious smells. All of her tails were puffed as every single fragrance of candy and pastry swirled into her nose in the same moment. Chocolate, brown sugar and cinnamon, lemon icing, blueberry jam…you name it. With a nose as good as hers, just the individual smells alone were making her mouth water.
"Keep it together Nui. You can't stuff your face with everybody here." Oh who was she kidding? If somebody put a plate of cookies in front of her right now, she'd probably inhale it. The decorations on the ground floor were pretty nice, though there was a really big bonfire in the shape of a bird. She wasn't sure why it was here, but at least there was a protective barrier so people didn't get hurt? What was behind it was the real kicker–at first she thought it was just an artificial landscape, but as she looked up she realized what it was. Her jaw dropped and her eyes went wide as her nine tails flopped in shock.
GODS ABOVE! "Is that…a…GIANT CAKE?!" Her ears flattened against her head as the massive dessert towered over her like a mountain. How was this even possible? And more importantly, how in all of Revaliir did it manage to hold its own weight?! If everybody had a tiny piece, there might still be leftovers! And by leftovers–that would be literal tons of icing and cake. There was cake for days–months even!
She spent a few more minutes in stunned silence as she beheld it in all its glory. Then she noticed people were walking up to the additional floors that circled around the god of all gateau. The sheer size of the thing meant those little specks standing next to the binoculars on the floor above were actually people. "I wonder how they're going to even cut the thing. I don't think there's even a knife big enough to get all the way through!" Trying hard to put off snacking until she had seen the sights, Nui made the sprint up to the first floor. That sprint was a crawl near the end as the walkway was way longer than she expected. Her legs were burning and she was practically out of breath, and she pulled herself onto a bench and laid on her back. Forget looking ladylike and proper–she was dead tired. After recovering, she was able to appreciate the fantastic scenery Cyril and Belen's mom had made.
The place was a garden, and it looked like somebody had planted it right in the middle of the building. She could see what people were doing with the binoculars now; and she noticed there were some familiar landmarks on the cake. Finding one that was unoccupied, she squinted her eyes as she swiveled the lenses around to get a better look at the cake decorations. "Whoaaa–is that a rainforest? There's even monkeys in the trees!" They weren't real though, since they weren't moving. If they looked small at a distance, then they were probably life-sized. Glancing at a plaque by the binoculars she read that the layers below were designed after Onnen. It looked like each floor was built so you could see certain parts of the cake, which had edible landmarks modeled after the three continents. As crazy as it was to make a cake this big, it was pretty amazing. Her concentration was broken when she heard the sound of somebody loudly gargling from behind. Turning around, she saw somebody sticking their head underneath one of the fountains; drinking straight from the tap.

Oh frabjous day! Callooh! Callay! Out of all the parties and festivities she had ever attended, this one took the cake–literally! She knew where there was a celebration, there'd be food…but never in a million years did she expect this! "SWEET GODS ABOVE~" The small oni gasped, her mouth agape and hands pressing firmly against the sides of her face. With a hop, skip, and a jump–she floated up and did a little spin as she closed her eyes in absolute rapture. "It's everything I've ever dreamed of–but better!" For the first time ever, Myouga was face-to-face with a literal mountain of cake. But wait–there was more! Not only was there a ginormous cake, some of the decorations here were made of candy too! And there were fountains of wine that poured out alcohol infinitely, with a sampling collection of some of the most rare and expensive booze to grace this good earth. Word on the street was that one of those fancy fountains had wine straight from the cellar of
the Angela Rose herself! Any connoisseur worth their salt knew that the goddess of life and love was no slouch when it came to fine dining, and that wine of hers was the stuff of legend. Myouga was practically drooling thinking about it.
"Well, no time like the present! I better hurry if I want to see it all! First stop, the drinking fountains!" Flying up to the first floor, the little arcanist wasted no time in making a beeline for the fonts of foaming drink. Drinking first-rate wine straight from the spout of an exquisitely carved fountain, now that was what she called the height of luxury! As tempting as it was, she decided not to. There were lots of other people who probably wanted to have a sip too, but she'd totally do it if she had the whole thing to herself. Taking out her Gobble Horn, instead of using it as an instrument, she shoved a cork in the bottom and proceeded to use it as a makeshift drinking cup. Once it was filled to the brim, she tipped her head back and took a big slurp. Smacking her lips, she let out a satisfied sigh. "Ahhhh~ Now that's what I call a good wine! Mmm, I wonder what it'd taste like if I added a little bit of everything?"
