Reaver watched the back and forth between the girl now known as Hazel and Raine but before long, his attention was back at the matter at hand. Apparently, it was something she believed that Nemesis could do that Angela couldn’t, and as it was more explained, he felt that this was more in the latter’s department. She was the healer, while his brother was anything but a practitioner of hexes and curses and whatnot. But then the conversation took a turn and he started to realize why she needed him particularly.
“The boy deserves it? Not really the sort of thing a girl says about her suitor, especially after he took a hit for her.” Which meant her suitor royally screwed up somewhere, but that was neither here nor there as far as he was concerned. What mattered really was that she wanted Nemesis’ blood, which wasn’t the sort of thing to be gained that easily, if at all. Still, he couldn’t really turn her away, not if Angela knew and endorsed it.
“Even if it’s possible, this whole reversal thing, what makes you think our blood is suitable? Nemesis’ wolven blood mingled with his already vampire blood eons ago, so wouldn’t that disqualify him alone?” Sounded to him like it would be more work for less profit, then again this field of study was foreign to him.
“I suppose that someone more recently changed wouldn’t have that problem just yet, but even so, Nemesis wouldn’t give his blessing for it for free.” He rubbed at his neck and cracked it; Raine was filling in some of the gaps, mainly validating through Angela’s word.
“Alright, alright. I’ll take you to him. The maestro should be up painting again.” He signaled for them to follow him as he ventured outside and started the trek to the manor deep within the woods.
“Stay on the path close to me and don’t look anything in the eyes.” He felt the chilly winds through his robes and against his face, but he continued to walk at a brisk pace as they walked the beaten path. There would be howls at times, along with what sounded like crazed, bizarre laughter- an element that was added most recently by the Lord. After some time, he pushed up the gates to the courtyard and eventually the double set of doors were opened.
“Nemesis, someone is here for you. Angela and Raine are familiar with her!”Reaver shouted from the bottom of the stairs in the foyer, leaning against the handle as the silence was broken after a little while by the sounds of boots from the second floor and coming closer to their position. Nemesis was in nothing but pants and boots, and various paints streaked at parts of his upper torso. His eyes immediately latched to Hazel’s as he made it to the first floor. Reaver leaned in and whispered to him and from his facial expression, he was at first confused about what his audience requested and slowly turned to that of being skeptical.
Still, he spoke nothing but moved into the next room where he typically saw guests and Reaver motioned with his head for them to follow the God.
“I know nothing of the process in which my bloodline can be used in this…scenario. But since you have some form of relationship with my wife, I suppose I can entertain this hunch of yours.”He busied himself a little by pouring a glass of Borbon, his back was to them the entire time until he wanted to make his point which by then his head turned slightly to see her. “And since you know her, I won’t demand your blood or coin for this exchange. Instead, a favor. One that may not come for years and the terms are open-ended. I believe that’s more than just fair.
He then turned to Reaver, “Go get Ivan. He can actually be useful for another reason other than just killing.”

“Raine?!” Hazel yelled out startled. Raine slipped in and she stood by Hazel waving.
“I was sent to make sure Hazel made it to the cathedral and to know what it is she’s looking for,” Raine’s eyes went to Hazel.
“I’m sorry but this is… out of Angela’s hands.”
“Ah, that,” Raine crossed her arms. “I know why she’s here now. Angela couldn’t fix it. Still, she wanted to make sure you were alright and not doing anything stupid.”
Hazel shook her head, “I had an idea and it will work but I…” She paused and centered herself as she closed her eyes. Taking a deep breath she looked back up at Reaver. “I’m going to stop addressing you now Raine. I didn’t come here to see you nor Angela.” Raine nodded and put her hands behind her back. Angela had an interest in Hazel and to make sure the girl stayed fine.
“I’m well aware of Lord Nemesis, not to be rude.” She waved her hand. “I’ve tried everything in the last week but…” She took a sigh. “I’m an expert in occult studies but that’s only part of why I’m here. My boyfriend he took a hex for me and it was so bungled that many people have tried to break it and the girl who did it doesn’t remember what hexes she put in it to create the monster she made.”
Hazel didn’t appear scared if anything she was confident, “I need lycanthrope blood that wasn’t born but created. I don’t have the time– No that’s wrong, I have all the time in the world but the longer we take to turn him back I’m afraid of how much he will have to adjust. It’s urgent that we turn him back because the longer I take… The longer it might take to fix him. I’m not here to make anyone feel bad for us. Rex probably deserves everything he’s going through right now but… The girl tried to hex me and he took the hex for me. If he had just let it hit me it wouldn’t have done anything to me… I’m much stronger than any she-bitch who thinks she knows what a hex is but the way the hex was thrown together… Those are the worst kind of hexes.”
Taking a breath she found herself centering herself again, “I want lycanthrope blood so I can study it. It has to be from a line that was created and not born. I’ve heard stories about Lord Nemesis and his Volkovs. They fit the bill. I’m going to reverse engineer lycanthropy and create a whole new line of it… I’m going to cure Rex of this hex by turning it into lycanthropy… It’s complicated but I did the math at least twenty times in my head running over here. I can do it. I just need to understand what lycanthropy is on the very basic level.”
Raine held up her hand innocently, "Lady Angela says what you are saying actually makes sense. She approves of your want to see Nemesis and if she hadn't I would have had to drag you out of here kicking and screaming." The phoenix said cheerfully. "It's possible that what she is saying will work. Lady Angela is doing her own math and it is checking out."

Visitors weren't uncommon in these parts; they would typically come to pray to the Dark God for an arrangement of reasons. While most were content with praying from the safety of their homes or the churches spread out all over the realm, some would take it a step further, thinking that theirs would be answered sooner because they made the trek. Oh if only they knew, that was but an extra step into proving themselves worthy enough. Among the inner circle, Reaver knew this fact the most as he would be one of the main obstacles that stood between them and Nemesis.
It wasn't odd when he picked up the sound of conversation, even when he was in the back doing some late-night paperwork. One of those voices belonged to Raine, which he wasn't sure why she was here other than to seek out Maalik or perhaps on official business. The other voice, the bits that he could make out, didn't seem familiar at all. Setting aside the transcription for the newly built orphanage in Adeluna, the head priest came out to see what was happening. Heavy steps approached and emerald-colored eyes latched onto the newcomer. She was but a child, and she had come all the way here? He carried a bit of a puzzled look on his face, not knowing what sort of hell the girl was under to have to come here. If anything, she would have been better at Angela's- her heart was warmer than the God here.
"Child, I speak in the name of the Lord here. What sort of help do you seek here?", Reaver spoke in a calm, quiet tune.
"And Raine, what are you doing here so late?" If she was going to be nosey, then she would at least answer for her own actions here. Shaking his head, he signaled for the girl to follow him to the pews and offered her a seat.
"I am Reaver, Head Priest of the Cathedral. We can see what we can do for your case; there might be a chance that he will have your audience, but my dear, heed this. Nothing is given freely when it comes to his…assistance."

It was terrible… She spent the better part of a week trying to figure out what she could do to help fix him. Her eyes went down to his form and Hazel pet his fur. “I’m so sorry.” She got down and took his form into her arms. “I’ll fix you I promise. Somehow.” She kissed the top of his head and started to cry. “You are everything I have so I just need you to be strong okay… and I’ll fix you.” She was trembling.
He had to be brave… Just the one time he shouldn’t have been. Once she was done crying she snuggled him more and wrapped them in a blanket as she read a book. “Let’s see… Curses for beginners… Curses… Wolves…” Her eyes got big for a moment.
“I’m an idiot.” She kissed his nose and she ran out of the door. “I’ll be back you stay right here and don’t get into any trouble.” She ran off. Finding Elysia would be easy enough but it was where she was going. She pulled on her shawl and kept it over her head as she made it into Elysia. It hid most of her features minus her tight thick curls that were popping out. Her hair had been getting long thanks to Rex helping her take care of it but now… She worried they weren’t going to fix him in time for him to get what he wanted and they would have to start again.
She had to look funny as she crossed the threshold into the Bastion. She was wearing a conservative dress and her shawl helped complete the look of just being out of place. She took a breath as she found the cathedral and wandered in. She lowered her shawl on her head merely out of respect as she spun around and looked at the large cathedral. She had never been in another god’s realm before.
Hazel was left breathless. “Hello?” She made it to the front and she paused. “I’m terribly… sorry. I don’t mean to interrupt but I was hoping you could help me.”
Outside Raine was tumbling around humming a song to herself as she pressed herself to the wall by the window looking in. “What are you doing~” She sang lightly as she watched the girl.
