It had been a weird two weeks since Simone’s rebirth. The fire that was burning within her was only growing stronger as time progressed. The resonance was dizzying and she hoped that eventually, it would subside at least a little. There was anxiety when Lewis left her sight. Anxiety that hadn’t been there before and she was sure from the way she felt his heart that he was feeling the same exact way. Even as she kissed his sleeping face and crawled out of bed she noticed he shot his hand out and grabbed her wrist.

His tired eyes were staring back at her. Hers was just as tired. “I just have to go to the washroom,” she whispered and kissed him. He kissed her back and reluctantly he let her go. “I love you,” she kissed him again and she heard him grumble it back out at her. “I’ll be back.” She pulled the blankets upon him and tucked him in.

Simone wrapped a robe around her. Lewis had spoiled her the last few days and she found herself with a lot of new things she had needed for a new life. After straightening her hair out and trying not to look as tired she left the assassin’s quarters and made her way down to the starry room where she had first met Lord Raith. The doors weren’t open this time but she let herself in. She figured that perhaps this would be the best way right now.

They had come home in the middle of the night. Lewis could barely move now that he was in bed and the only reason she was up and moving was the sheer will power she had. “You’ll have to forgive my late-night intrusion, Lord Raith,” her voice was steady but loud enough. She knew the God had sensed them.

“We’re exhausted. Lewis did gods know what to get me back and it’s been one hell of a two weeks since then.” She lowered the robe just enough so the resonance tattoo could light up and the magic came alive. She was sure that Lewis would feel the burning but it wasn’t out of the ordinary if she was looking at it.

“I thought a lot about what you said about Lady Alaria being your light… I think I’ve found mine. Lewis told me a bit about how he got me back. Apparently, something about getting drunk and screaming at Angela. He got punched in the face.” There was a snort. “I didn’t want to wait to let you know of my arrival. It would be rude.”

Even her voice was tired and the magic was rampant even with how tired she was. The strings were constantly pulling and letting go from where Lewis was. Even being this far away from him… It wasn’t even that far. “It’s driving us mad. This link. Angela told us it will get better but this is the price of Lewis getting what he wanted. Resurrecting me… I didn’t honestly think he cared that much.” Everything was still a shock but she was looking at the ring on her finger.

“You’ll have to forgive my ramblings I am exhausted as much as he is. I made myself get up.” All in all, she had been away from the Observatory for almost two months now. Dead for at least one of them.
