Syn notified Isleen that Raith decided they were going to begin training. Isleen felt anxious at this news but assured herself that it would be fine. Frankly, they probably should have started sooner. The wars that ensued both before and quickly after Raith’s ascension proved that much. The Champion was strong and intelligent but there was more untapped power. Each time she had to quickly utilize it, the energy was raw and destructive. It was in both of their best interests to condition and channel it. Isleen knew her value within the Observatory hinged on proving she was an asset. The days of her special treatment due to being ‘family’ were over; there were others within the temple now.

Isleen hardly slept the night before the training. It was a bit before noon, which for her schedule was pretty early. The wolf gave up on sleeping and pushed off her blankets with an angry huff. Her throat was dry. She glanced at Ethan sleeping soundly. A wicked thought crossed her mind but she reached for a forgotten glass of water instead. The thought lingered, causing a smile to remain on her lips as she drank. She looked over her shoulder to take in his form once more before getting up. Not a day went by where she didn’t thank the gods for allowing them to find each other once more - and she silently thanked him for choosing to love her.

Quietly, the Champion changed into flexible pants and a loose tunic. She did her best to pull her hair into a braid. She caught a glimpse of herself in the mirror and made a mental note to have Teu teach her better techniques. Finally, she slipped on some shoes and made her way towards the kitchen. Isleen paused at the options still out. There was always plenty of fresh pastries but she typically went for fruit. She shrugged and opted for an oversized blueberry pastry before heading towards the training room.

She pushed open the door and felt a rush of cool air. “That’s nice,” she thought aloud. The wolf scanned the room and noted the stack of towels and pitcher of water. The ground was firm but with slight give. Half of the walls featured large mirrors but, like many of the rooms, the ceiling seemingly didn’t exist. Instead, one could see the stars. Isleen poured herself a glass of water before taking a seat on a wooden, backless bench and ate her breakfast. Her left leg bounced a little, wondering if she should start warming up. If they were focused on magic, there wasn’t much preemptively she could do. However, if they were going to work on combat technique, some stretches were probably in order.

Raith

Character Info
Name: Raith
Age: Unknown
Alignment: CE
Race: Part Minadrias-Part Diowolf
Gender: Male
Class:
Silver: 3483
Raith had allowed Isleen a little more freedom than he'd originally intended for his Champion, since Syn had arrived and they had begun building the Coven, Raith had not had the time to dedicate to Isleen as he'd hoped. Though this did not mean his Champion was going to get away from him scot-free, oh ho! Not a chance. Her brief reprieve from the onslaught of Raith's oppressive personality was longer than anticipated, but now that Syn was handling the Coven and Lewis and Dae were hard at work on the Assassin side of things… it was Isleen's turn.
He still hadn't forgiven her for the fucking turkeys, nor for allowing that wretched Xyaban from escaping his domain before he'd had a chance to rip her spine from out of her arse. But no matter, that particular problem would be dealt with appropriately in time, let the Dragonness piss herself constantly, worrying about when Raith was going to feed her, her own fucking tail.

The war with Sirona had proved to Raith that he needed more time with Isleen, it wasn't her fault she was inadequate, that was down to him for not beating his standard into her yet. No matter, they had all the time in the world now… It was time to really draw out the potential he had seen in Isleen, just as she had seen what he would become, he could 'see' what she could become… once he'd beaten it out of her.
Leaving the Observatory (where Raith spent most of his time, conversing with the Celestials at his command, sending them out on various tasks as he spread his influence across Revaliir), Raith shifted the location of the door so that it took him directly to the room he had prepared for the training session with Isleen. As he opened it, he was grateful to be greeted with her scent, happy in the knowledge that she had arrived, on time.

"Good, you're here, not that I expected any less," he stated as he closed his door behind him and dismissed it, leaving it to be replaced by another mirror. "Are you ready Isleen? This isn't going to be soft, or easy, or pleasant, I trust you are prepared for that? We were caught off guard by Sirona, and I will not allow us to be so unprepared should there be a next time. But first I need to see what you can do, without it being on a battlefield where my attention is elsewhere."
