Silence had taken to exploring the new room, while they waited for Alairia to arrive, Raith inspecting his handy work through the eyes of the Drake. Not a bad effort, considering he wasn't exactly the most natural gardener, by any means of the word. It would suffice, Ria could do with it as she wished from now on, this was her room after all, a place she could call her own that even he would not interfere with, unless asked to.
He heard the door open, moments before the gasp, and he smiled. Giliath was naturally cold, thanks to the fact that it was essentially situated in the Heavens, but this place Raith had ensured to be the opposite of his own Domain - this room was for his Light, and therefore required a warmth he did not possess himself. With Alairia he was gentle, with her he found a softer side to himself, that others would never have dared even dream of. His love for the woman had shown him greater depths to himself, and he had grown because of her, even to the point of saving his loathsome mother…
He remained upon the blanket, allowing his lover the chance to explore her new room, where she could begin to conduct her work, safe and happy in the knowledge that Raith was never too far away. He smiled warmly, and opened his arms to embrace her, pulling her close and breathing in her scent, savouring the warmth of her body.
"Of course," he chuckled, under no delusions, whatsoever, as to how brilliant he was. Modesty had never been a strong point of his.
"I thought about what we discussed the other night, and I realised that I wanted you to realise your dream here, to tie it to my own in a way… not to take away what you will achieve, but because all that I am and all that I do is because of, and for, you. The door will open from your mother's shop in Mamlak, and will automatically bring any of your patients directly into this room; they will be seeking your help, not mine, therefore there is no need for them to take the same trials as my own Pilgrims. Should you require me, I will come, should you require access to Giliath, you need merely think of the cold of our home and the door will change location automatically for you to walk through without worrying about needing me to be around. It means I can keep you safe, but you have your privacy, this place is yours and yours alone Alairia, this room is not for me nor those who come to find me," he added softly.
Resting his cheek atop her head he smiled.
"A little, I had to ask that wretched Angela for help, in terms of the plants etc. but for you, another favour to that woman, I shall suffer with," he chuckled.
"There's another reason I asked you here Alairia, something important," he shifted his weight slightly, and pulled a box from his pocket, opening the lid with his thumb so that he could keep his other arm around his lover. Inside was the most stunning
ring the
centre of which looked like a star, or a piece of the moon, that had been plucked from the sky and set amongst the rest of the glistening stones.
"I love you Alairia, in a way I never believed that I could love anyone, marry me?"
