A break was much needed for the Champion of Strength and Courage. He had been spending much of his time working with the new recruits as well as working on helping out the smaller villages deal with the recent as well as frequent earthquakes that were hitting Revaliir. Kiba was tired, but most of all he had been unable to
turn. There were few opportunities that had been available to him to change into his true form and go for a run, let alone hunt. It was not in the nature of the wolf to be handed his meals. Kiba wanted to hunt for once and do so with his own teeth.
It was the talks of Flidais that pulled the diowolf’s interest as he learned more of the Eternal Hunting Grounds. With a proper set up, Kiba found a stretch of time where he could leave and visit the Grounds. Upon arriving at the border his destination he was able to change into his giant black wolf form. Long legs stretched that reached his back to feel the ripples of his lean muscle. A wolfish grin was upon his maw at the feel of his true body reacting to each command. Tail wagged as he moved into a trot to move into the forest that was lush.
Nose twitched at the scent of new arrivals on each of his flanks. Wolves with the scent of a divine began to follow at a distance as if to escort him along his path. A low growl developed in Kiba’s chest in a warning to keep a proper expanse between them, but he did nothing else. It did not take him long to find himself at the Gate of the Wilds. A giant paw was placed upon one of the carvings that ended up giving him entrance to Flidais Grounds. The diowolf entered gratefully and finally felt at ease.
Finding himself deeper in a forest full of shades green, he lowered his cranium close to the ground. It was time to hunt for his own meal. Claws gently dug into the earth as his senses reached out to search for his prey. He felt a sense of exhilaration at the ability to hunt once more. Ears flicked towards the sound of a breaking branch upon the forest floor. Kiba caught the familiar sound of the breath of a buck as it grazed upon the grass. Muscles bunched up as he prepared to lunge forward.
Power was unleased as he pushed off the ground into a flat run towards his target. There was no time for the buck to react before the diowolf’s teeth were clamped around its throat to end its life. Kiba never liked to draw out a prey’s death for it meant extended suffering. Black wolf dropped his meal to the forest floor to see that it was a clean job. It took him little time to settle in to begin feeding on his fresh kill. The heat from the buck began to fill his stomach.
