The surrounding areas of Suishō no Kyūden are safe from the sometimes harsh weather of the snowy mountain peak.  While mainly behind the Crystal Palace, the grounds do creep up on the sides a little ways.  There are three distinct areas, each unique in their own way, though some are more private than others.  While The Lord of Light’s personal chambers are strictly private unless granted access by he himself, these three areas are the ones where you’re most likely to find him.
 
On the left side lies Kesshō no Niwa: The Crystal Garden.  Elegant trees stretch towards the sky, their trunks comprised of crystal, each one different; some ethereal moonstone, another soothing jade.  The leaves of these trees are in fact gems as well, though every one of them shows their own character and extreme details to give homage to the foliage they so imitate. 
 
A constantly flowing stream snakes through the expansive garden, reflecting sunlight to dance against the emerald blades of grass, ruby and quartz rose bushes, and so on.  Graceful koi make up the inhabitants of this stream, their scales comprised completely or precious crystals.  They are quite attractive to children, and usually small hands are splashing about in the water: offering up emerald grass blades to feed the thankful koi. 
 
Obsidian makes up the trunks and bloody garnet forms the leaves of the Ataiyan maples that are so plentiful in the gardens: a nod to Naota’s homeland.  While theft is something highly frowned upon, it is actually from this garden that Naota plucks gifts and blessings for those in need.  The Lord of Light has many riches here, and is happy to give to those that are not as fortunate: all they need do is ask.
 
 
 

At the center of the surrounding areas behind the Crystal Palace lies Hikari no Michi: The Path of Light.  It is here that one may find the deity walking in contemplative thought.  The ground shimmers with holy light and helps boost concentration.  Walkers are bathed in soft yet strong rays and surrounded by white glowing beams.  This path raises up, forming a bridge over parts of the stream that cut through from The Crystal Garden.  Many lessons and long talks are walked through this path with The Lord of Light, though those with evil intent will find themselves harmed by this sacred area.
 
For anyone seeking immediate guidance, Hikari no Michi is the perfect place to go, for even if one traverses alone without the deity they will find themselves able to focus more clearly.  While a highly hallowed area, this area is one where people are most encouraged to visit if they are in need of immediate grounding.  The path is blessed on the first sun rise of every moon cycle by Naota, and visitors are welcome to attend said blessings.
 
 


 
The third and final surrounding area to the right are the stables and training area for horses.  This area is a gift to Naota’s Lady where she can raise young fillies and colts into becoming great companions to those in need.  Comprised of rose quartz and fire opal, this is an area of fun and sometimes entertainment if The Lady so pleases. 
 
Young bucking Nightmares can be heard playfully neighing, and their fiery manes send powerful light against the crystal stable and arena beams.  This area is semi private, and while all are welcome to come and watch training, permission must be granted before entering the stables.  This is not only for the horse’s protection, but also for the visitors as well since the young fillies and colts are still being trained.  While Naota holds domain over all of Suishō no Kyūden, his Lady takes charge here, and visitors are expected to treat her with the upmost respect.
