Cha'Kwe'Tza made a warding gesture with his hands. He did not know what kind of evil sorcery was bringing the headless child in front of him back to life, but he didn't like it. A wicked shiver ran from the base of his skull to the tip of his tail, the appendage flicking angrily back and forth a few times. The girl was making a strange stuttering sound that the humans called laughing. Looking from the piece of paper that she had thrust into his hands, then back to the girl, Cha'Kwe'Tza crumpled it up and jammed it into the small bag on his side. He could hardly speak the language here let alone read it. The girl went on to explain that there was a set of items out in the woods, and that if he were to retrieve them, then there might be a reward of some sorts for him. Cha'Kwe'Tza had eventually figured out that this could be an item of some power, and worthy of recovery so that he could bring it back to the High Priests.
Striding through the chaotic mess of people and tents that the humans called a 'Carnival', Cha'Kwe'Tza stood almost a head over nearly everyone, and had no trouble seeing. A motley assortment of people in all sorts of strange and outlandish clothing in a variety of colours were strolling amongst a group of the tents. Ignoring them, Cha'Kwe'Tza turned and walked out the far side of the grounds from which he had entered, figuring that this was as good as any other direction to head off in. Approximately thirty yards into the treeline a human male came staggering out of the foliage, pale as the moon, and holding a small rock in his hands whilst gibbering about having found something. Leaving the muttering human behind, Cha'Kwe'Tza carried on into the woods.
A short time later, the large Reptilian came upon another human male, slim as a spear and not quite as tall as himself. He was trying to creep out to the end of a large tree branch, which had a length of rope tied off in a noose dangling from the end. The closer the man got to the noose, the more the bough bounced up and down, until finally the thing snapped with a crack that seemed louder than it was in comparison to the almost dead silence of the surroundings. After the dust settled a little, Cha'Kwe'Tza stepped towards the fallen branch to retrieve the noose, as it was one of the items that the girl was looking for. A twig snapped under one of his clawed feet, and the human male spun to see what was there. When he saw what was before him, his jaw dropped and his eyes opened wide with fear.
Staring him in the eyes, Cha'Kwe'Tza walked up beside him and casually leaned over to rip the noose from the branch. Slinging it over his shoulder, he turned to start walking back towards the carnival. After a few steps, there was a dim light that hovered at chest height, that flitted from tree to tree. Yellow eyes narrowing, Cha'Kwe'Tza growled at the mysterious light. As it drew closer, it grew in size and brightness until it defied all logic and transformed into the shape of a translucent human woman. Everything felt wrong though, as the moment the woman took form her hands turned into dagger like talons and an ear piercing scream rent through the air. Meeting her challenge with a bestial roar of his own, Cha'Kwe'Tza revered the grip on his spear and heaved it with his tremendous strength. He was terribly surprised when the weapon sailed straight through the figure with barely a whisper.
