Greetings!
I am the mastermind behind both Sane and Synthesis (Illusory Angel).
Writing is my main hobby (apart from anime and napping) but I am fairly new to roleplaying. (=^··^=)

Basic Description and Abilities
Sane is a Psionics Master, meaning he is a master of all things to do with the telepathy and the mind. Obviously, he can comunicate with most intellegent creatures telepathically and he can read the thoughts and emotions of a person with ease. With a little more effort, he can scan deeply into peoples minds, implant ideas and even perform mind control at a great energetic cost to himself. He can also inject spikes of pain or confusion into his victims's minds, whilst he can just as easily defend his own mind against all but the attacks of deities. He can also defend his allies minds to a lesser degree. Finally, he can also use his mind to move objects and manipulate elements in basic and advanced telekenisis.

Whenever he uses abilities beyond basic telepathy and mind reading, his eyes will glow a seemingly random colour but luckily for him most people don't know what this means. For weaker psionics, the glow is faint enough for him to be able to close his eyes and hide it. For stronger psionics, the glow will seep through his eyelids and betray his actions. While in this state, Sane is technically unable to see with his eyes but instead is able to sense everything going on around him with his mind.

Sane choice of physical weapon is the dagger, of which he has two in sheaths on his right hip. This reflects his fighting style perfectly. He will never play by the rules and will always fight dirty because he views such physical violence as a means to an end. If you want to compete in a fair contest of skill, he would say take up a hobby. Duels are not his thing.

Backstory
Sane came from a very normal human background. However, his working class parents decided they wanted better for their son and apprenticed him to a master of Psionics, who taught him from a young age for a low fee because he was a family friend. He was trained intensively from the age of three till the age of fifteen, when he was released to do as he pleased. Also, over this time his eyes began to act strangely and change colour at seemingly random intervals to seemingly random colours.

Due to his immense and unique skills in all mental magics, he was quickly in high demand both legally and on the black market for an assortment of jobs, both honourable and dubious. He quickly became rich, though she doesn't often flaunt this because he likes to blend in and manipulate people from the shadows. When in direct interaction with a person he also likes to keep his secrets.

Because of the nature of his work, he has established contacts in most places both legally and illegally. He makes enough money to send plenty back to his parents, who now live in comfort with a maid. He has also purchased several properties all over the place and moves from city to city often.

Personality
Sane defines himself by his power as a Psionic master and often thinks of himself as above other people. To make him feel more powerful than he already is, he likes to ommit any reference to the fact he can read minds so he can get the upper hand in day to day interactions and manipulate them to get the best possible outcome for him. Similarly, he doesn't discose much information about himself because he likes to remain mysterious, knowing all about others while they know nothing about him. In a nutshell, he likes to act and be treated as supirior to other people. However, he cannot function very well for long when not around intellegent beings because his life revolves around reading and playing around in other's minds.

On the positive side, being in people's heads so often has allowed him to view much that a normal person couldn't. He understands the hardships people suffer (even if he has come to accept them as a fact of life) and has developed over time a very non-judgemental approach to his fellow intellegent beings. His catches them thinking all sorts of strange and horrific things all the time, but he knows that it is people's actions, not thoughts, that really count.

There is no denying that his morals are also quite blurred and dubious: He will do anything from spying to assassinating on a regular basis for his job and feels no remorse about it. However, there are some lines he won't cross, such as the murder of innocents or causing pain for someone else's pleasure. In his words, he has "standards". Further, because he is so wealthy at this point, he has often been known to double cross his employers because he feels like it. This is generally because he enjoys siding with the underdog for a challange or because he appreciates people who are humble and hard working as opposed to people who are already in power, whome he often views as unworthy bullies and cowards.

Some people would view this as hypocrisy, seeing as he is in power and very much likes to get his own way. They might be right in that he does have an unfair advantage over other people and take it for granted. However, in his mind, he has worked for every penny he owns using his abilities and he gained his abilities through training and dedicated work. If he could take anyone seriously enough to care about their opinion, he would resent any accusation of being slothful or spoilt. However, as it is, he doesn't take many people that seriously and believes his own views and that of a few select others to be the only ones that matter.

Companion (Sweetness)
Sane has a small pixie ironically called "Sweetness" as his companion. She is both mischevious and completely spoilt by Sane, but at the same time completely loyal to him and would do whatever he asked her to. This is because he saved her from certain death as an infant fae when her evil siblings tore her wings off for being the runt of the litter. Without her wings, she had no way of collecting foods like most of her race and no way of avoiding the usual predators. But it was the cold that was about to finish her off when Sane found her and took her under his proverbial wing.

In turn, Sane loves the admiration and praise Sweetness has for him. She is the only person he will consistently take seriously without taking offence when she tells him he is wrong or suggests alternative causes of action. She is also the only person he is truly open to and will always let into his mind. This is because nothing in his mind can ever taint her adoration for him. As such he will spoil her with anything she wants with his large funds of money. Her name may be slightly sarcastic but it is also a genuine term of endearment as they are so close and she is often sweet to him.

Sweetness can only chatter, click and squeak, as this is the way her species unusally communicate between themselves, but Sane has never bothered to learn this language - if it can be called that - because she also has the ability to communicate telepathically just like himself and this has always been more than sufficient for them. This means then when they communicate other people present will feel left out of the loop.

She can also read minds and often goes off on espionage missions for him because of this and her small size. Razer sharp teeth that can easily draw blood give her oppportunity to to slip away if caught and her limited supply of magic allows her to cast very simple spells if she needs to.

She is ususally quite suspicious and disliking of strangers as well as being quite jealous and protective of Sane, the only person she has ever really cared for. They now go most places together and Sane will only leave her for short periods of time unless he is going somewhere dangerous and he doesn't want to risk her safety. She never likes to be seperated from him regardless of any risks. She usually rests and hides in his pockets, sleeves, bags or the hood of his cloak.

Simple, sturdy footwear, usually made of leather.

This heavy, woolen cloak offers its wearer warmth and protection from the elements. It also has a hood, which can be drawn up to make the wearer seem more mysterious.

A simple garment which might resemble a long shirt that stops somewhere between the wearer's hips and ankles. The sleeves may be long or short, depending on the local climate.

Those afflicted by this spell will gain an almost insatiable hunger for food, particularly of the expensive or exotic kinds. This can help adversely affecting a person’s image, or make them very easy to befriend by the simple means of a tasty meal.

The father ate and drank uncaringly, growing more massive with each passing day while lesser men went hungry. Soon, he was incapable of running from his enemies, so increased was he.

A spell which causes a person to feel intense greed, usually monetary greed. This makes the target more prone to theft and other acts of crime for personal gain, and could also be used to make them more susceptible to bribery.

The affected sentient being becomes overcome with lust, to the point where they may desire people they would otherwise not even consider. Has a number of malicious uses, but the most practical include making someone more susceptible to being seduced, and is particularly potent when coupled with a charm spell.

A person affected by this spell will suffer a lack of motivation and energy, and will usually result in dire neglect of duties, themselves, and those around them. It also makes them very easy to convince, particularly to look the other way or offer simple payment for easy tasks.
