All About Logan
Once Logan was a promising member of an order dedicated to fighting evil. His home was in Adeluna, and the cell he was recruited into specialized in hunting vampires. But the order held a dark secret. They had been infiltrated by the very evil they sought to destroy. Logan was singled out, seen by the infiltrator as having great potential, and great naivety. He was sent out, time and again, to mete out justice against the order's foes. Slowly, Logan began to realize there were many human faces among the dead, and he went to confront the cell's mistress. He worried for the blood that stained his hands, and the weight of the screams against his conscience. The vampire only laughed when she revealed herself, taunting Logan with how easy it had been to compel him into doing her will. And I didn't even have to use magic she whispered to him. Those words burned themselves into his memory, and Logan felt he was lost with no way back to the light.
Then and there, he knelt, certain that he was unforgivable. That night, the vampire gave him the dark gift. And that night, the order itself started to die. Logan rose, slaughtering his former brothers and sisters in his cell as they slept. He moved to other cells, welcomed as a brother, then quickly turned traitor. Once the order had been obliterated, Logan went back to his mistress. She kept him for a time, teaching him of what he was. Then she vanished, leaving the new vampire to his own devices.
That was two hundred years ago, and Logan still haunts the streets of his former home. He takes a great deal of pleasure in taunting the righteous, using his own experiences to mock them. But lately, something has been tugging at his undead heartstrings, a lack of purpose. He does have all eternity after all, and Logan figures that he may as well put that to good use.
