Chitty Chitty Bang Bang (QUEENDOM)Appearance and Personality:Once simple glance at him reveals his lineage: standing at a statuesque height of 6'1" with silvery hair and ebony skin, Idris has elven allure softened by human blood. His eyes are pale grey, nearly matching the color of his hair–providing a sharp contrast against his dark complexion. Although normally hidden by his hair, his ears are rounded like a human's as opposed to being pinnate, like an elf's. He is quite fond of dressing up and owns a variety of fashionable outfits that flatter his appearance.
Free-spirited with a carefree, playful attitude, Idris is a man who enjoys experiencing life and it's pleasures. Said pleasures tend to fall into the categories of good food, good clothing, good company, and good wine. As he was raised by dwarves, he has a healthy appreciation for alcohol in all its forms. Not one to allow himself to become entangled by past grievances, he lives a life unfettered by the emotional turbulence that often plagues half-bloods like him. Naturally he staunchly believes his past does not define him; only he can define himself.
History:Idris was born to a human father and dark elf mother, the latter hailing from a reclusive clan that dwelled in the depths of Parvpora. Said clan was unwelcoming to outsiders, and so the consequences for their forbidden tryst resulted in death. In their final moments, the two hid their newborn child away before they were caught and executed by the mother's clansmen, leaving behind a child with nothing but a name. Fortunately fate was kind, and the infant was discovered by a group of dwarven miners. They adopted the baby and raised him like one of their own, teaching him what it meant to be a dwarf. As a child Idris never questioned his identity despite looking vastly different from his adoptive family, coming to the conclusion that he was just a
tall dwarf.
It wasn't until many years later that he learned he was apparently a half elf, and half dark elf in fact. This discovery had little effect on his personality, as he insisted on identifying as a dwarf. Dwarf or not, he is himself and nothing in the world would change that. When he came of age he chose to leave the familiarity of his clan hall to enter Iria's illustrious mage academy. There he dabbled in the arcane arts, honing his latent psionic abilities. He was above average as a student, barely graduating with the presentation of two senior projects: the first being a failed beard growth tonic that ended up promoting hair growth in general, and the second being chilled liquor gummies. Using alchemy, Idris created a hollow chewable sweet filled with a burst of perfectly chilled alcohol. Although not as outstanding as the projects of his peers, they allowed him to pass nonetheless.
Finding a stable job with his level of expertise wasn't easy, to say the least. When you're in the middle of the pack it's harder to compete with the incredibly gifted, and salary negotiations have a much lower ceiling. And so, he found himself at Angelus Academy–low on options and personal funds. Instead of a proper teaching position, Idris was given a menial staff spot watching over books in the forbidden section of the school's library. There he spent many a day in that dreary corner with no one to talk to, until two 'students' tried to enter. They were much more capable in combat than he expected, so he did the logical thing and surrendered. As fate would have it, it was the Terrowin couple in disguise and he secured a deal to work as their in-house tutor for their children to make up for his inevitable loss of a job. Since his superiors were terrible sticks in the mud to begin with, there were no hard feelings.
