Born the eldest daughter of a fairly wealthy merchant, Matilda Brynja Jollenbeck spent a lot of time disappointing her family. From skipping her studies and returning home covered in mud at the end of the day to entertaining younger siblings with how loud she could belch, Bryn was never the child her socially ambitious parents could show off to friends.

It was a near constant power struggle between Bryn and her elders until the conflict came to a head with a single announcement: her parents had elected to pursue an arranged marriage for their child. Having reached the tipping point of what she felt she could endure, Bryn left home and family behind without meeting her intended or even learning his name.

Nearly a decade later, Bryn has thrived and thoroughly enjoyed her life as a mercenary, bounty hunter, and whatever other trouble she could find to get into. While the choice has led to ups and downs, she doesn't regret the decision to take charge of her life and seek out her own joy.

A beautifully crafted necklace with a radiant gemstone pendant. It feels warm almost like a hug, like it had only just almost gotten done cooling from the warm forge it was crafted from. It seems to emit a soft light and a small heartbeat comes from it.
