Long time writer & gamer. D&D, Paranoia, GURPS, you name it, I've likely played it at least once. I haven't written Fantasy for some time, but thought I'd get back to it.

Hair: Dark & wavy
Eyes: Blue
Skintone: Dusky/Olive
Build: Slight/Petite. Her figure is delicate. She has a dancer's body but her small waist makes her bust look bigger than it actually is.

Appearance in Age: Looks anywhere from teens to early twenties. Depends a lot on how she's dressed and does her hair.

Weapons of Choice: Short sword, dagger. Knows how to use a bow, but rarely carries one.
Armour of choice: Light leather, if any.

Magical Abilities: She displayed only a little magic - so far. Simple semi-illusions like making the fire dance to her music, and her music being unusually soothing when she wishes it to be, beyond "normal" music.

Special Techniques: What magic she's displayed has been while she was singing and/or playing her mandolin.

Backstory: Selane has been part of a gypsy troupe her entire life. Members come and go, and how big the troupe is at any given time varies from a score or more to less than ten. She's never lived anywhere more than a year or two at the most, rather following a nomadic lifestyle and "wintering" someplace for a time. Some towns or cities her troupe settled in for a bit longer than "just the winter" but the call of the road (sometimes read as "local trouble") eventually uprooted her troupe each time.

She is beginning to strike out more on her own, now that she is a young woman, and full of curiosity about her world. Her life with the troupe has actually be rather sheltered.

Selane's birth is something of a mystery, and she doesn't know the full story herself. She does know that her Papa isn't actually her sire. This matters only a little to her, as it never seems to have mattered to him, as far as their father/daughter relationship is concerned.

[Selane's actual father isn't an elf, but a fairy. That makes her half-fae, and is definitely going to play merry hell with her future. She does not, at this time, have wings, or the magic that the faeries are reputed to have. I stress "at this time"…]

Relations: Entire Gypsy troupe, with cousins and lots of extended family. Her Papa is not her biological father. She has never met her biological father, but perhaps he'll come to light at some point, who knows?

A musical instrument with pairs of metal cymabls attached to a frame. Most tambourines also have a drumhead stretched across the frame.

Song Bird

A small animal with wings, capable of flight. Many species of birds are known for their melodious songs.

Sheet Music

Delicate pages of parchment inked with musical notes for any musician to play or sing from.

Quill and Ink

A writing implement made from a long feather, used by dipping the tip into a pot of dyed liquid.

Mask

This mask is crafted typically for one's face. It may be used for protection, disguise, or even entertainment.

Map

This parchment shows a region of Revaliir, or the entire world. It is useful for navigating.

Lute

A stringed instrument that is a favorite of bards.

Horn

This instrument is typically conical in shape, and sometimes curved. A person typically blows into the smaller end, and the sound is amplified.

Flute

A wooden rod that is hollowed out with holes carved in. If one places their fingers over the holes, it makes sounds when on blows into the mouth piece.

Fan

An object made of feathers or cloth stretched between sturdy spokes, it is often used to keep one's self cool.

Drum

A percussion instrument consisting of a piece of animal skin stretched over a base. It may be played with sticks or hands.

Dagger

A short, bladed weapon with a sharp point. Can be used to slash or pierce an enemy.

Common Tunic

A simple garment which might resemble a long shirt that stops somewhere between the wearer's hips and ankles. The sleeves may be long or short, depending on the local climate.

Common Trousers

Sometimes called pants, this garment is worn on the lower body, and covers the legs. These trousers are long and extend down to the ankles.

Cap

A sweet hat. It even has a feather in it!

Boots

Simple, sturdy footwear, usually made of leather.

Blank Scrolls

Made of paper or parchment, these scrolls are ideal for writing on.

Backpack

A hardy pack, with two straps that allow it to be worn on one's back. It's ideal for carrying supplies while on the move.
