Titles and Other Names: Lord of the Sacred Night, The Pale King, King of Ash, King of the Lunar Court
Theme: In the Hall of the Mountain KingAppearance and Temperament:Eidolons in their natural state are not corporeal, spectral shapeshifters whose bodies differ greatly from most races. But upon leaving their place of origin to enter Revaliir, they became bound by the laws of the world–forced into physical forms. Even so their appearances varied widely and they retained a small portion of their shape-changing abilities. When not attempting mimicry, their forms are fanciful and vividly colored, vaguely humanoid as an adaptation towards coming into contact with the races of Revaliir. Some would bear more bestial and inhuman traits, while others like Aidoneus adopted shapes more closely resembling that of humans. Out of his kind, Aidoneus is a rarity in many aspects. He possesses an innate alignment towards order with a core ideal of altruism in contrast with the free-spirited and sometimes fickle nature of most eidolons. This consistency of temperament is uncommon for their ilk, yet these traits have served him well in his role as the King of the Lunar Court.
His greater capacity for empathy assists in reducing unnecessary tensions in social interaction with the world's inhabitants but renders him vulnerable in the same way. Aidoneus will almost never initiate with violence, only acting after being sufficiently threatened or provoked. He is well-spoken, knowledgeable, and patient with a willingness to gain more understanding of concepts unfamiliar to him. This may give off the impression of passivity and naivete, though one cannot fault a long-lived being who has no grasp of time to know what tardiness means.
Aidoneus has three main forms he is normally in at any given time. His base form resembles a young man with bluish black hair reaching just past his shoulders, with dull reddish eyes. With a lean build his complexion is pale, and he is exactly six feet in height. When he disguises himself, he alters his appearance to have pale blond hair and slate blue eyes. When he is severely damaged or
at full power , he reverts to his 'original' form upon entering Revaliir from the Void. His eyes turn carmine red and his hair lengthens well past his waist, changing into an iridescent bluish black. Rumor has it that if he were to leave the boundaries of Revaliir, he would manifest his true form–an ethereal being with vague humanoid features composed of ever-shifting cosmic matter.
Annals of Parnassia:Vestments and Armaments:Disguised as a man of the clothTalents and Abilities:As a being born from the Void, Aidoneus possesses many unusual traits that set him apart from other magical entities. The entirety of his bodily fluids is composed of a mysterious liquid substance called ichor, which acts both as 'blood' and the essence of his being. In addition to his lack of any bones or organ systems, he can regenerate if the loss of his ichor or body composition is not too great. Decapitation, suffocation, drowning, starvation, and dismemberment do not affect him very much as he does not possess the organs that would make him seriously affected by such damage.
He has excellent magic resistance and can metabolize toxins well enough most of the time. Bleeding, freezing, and burning on the other hand still pose a threat as his body can be best compared to an amorphous, fluid mass. This explains why he can change his appearance so easily. He is also capable of learning new information such as languages upon ingestion of small amounts of another being's blood, though what he learns through this process is rather limited.
Aidoneus is a capable summoner and caster, specializing in elemental, healing, and arcane magic. Although not immune to exhaustion, he can regain power through absorbing magical energy or exposure to natural light. If his magic expenditure is too great or he is grievously wounded, he will enter a state of hibernation until his condition improves. Despite being rather difficult to kill, he is far from immortal. Contrary to those who draw power from the World Tree, the closer he is to the Void the more powerful he becomes. However this comes with its drawbacks–his physical form becomes less stable when he is in close proximity to Void entry points, making it harder for him to keep his physical state.
Once he enters the Void all assumed guises collapse completely as he reverts to his true form. His most dangerous ability however lies in his ichor, which has the power to transform other beings into eidolons if it is ingested or enters through an open wound. This acts as a very efficient countermeasure against attacks from wild beasts as it results in the attackers being converted.
