History

25 years ago, a King and Queen in a far away land had their first child. A son. Their son was born with hair like flames and the eyes of a beast, his natural crown, birthright, to become the next King of Dragons. However, the child was lost shortly after his birth, causing his parents great pain and grief. It was suspected that the Prince had been kidnapped, but there was no evidence, and so it was never proven. His parents sent their knights, and even hired the best trackers in the land, but their Prince was never found.

Until three weeks later, when he was discovered by an old human couple, abandoned and left for dead. The couple took him as their own and raised him in their poor farming village, giving him the name Thorgil. As a child he was a troublemaker who enjoyed playing pranks on his friends and neighbors, but he was obedient. Even though he and his family were poor, he was grateful for being alive and loved, with so many caring people in his life.

But that happiness didn’t last very long.

One horrid night, Thorgil was wakened by the suffocating scent of smoke filling his lungs and the feeling of flames licking his skin. Their house had been set on fire, their village attacked by brigands. Friends and neighbors were needlessly robbed, beaten and murdered, while they captured some of the women and children they thought could be sold at a high price. While Thorgil attempted to escape with his adoptive parents, the old couple were murdered before his own eyes, before he was captured and restrained. The brigands made a big deal about him, for hair and eyes like his had never been seen before. They believed he’d be sold for far more than the rest, and so they sailed across the seas to other lands in search for someone willing to buy him for the price they had set.

Eventually that someone was found in Revaliir, a Lord of a highly populated and rich land. Too young to carry out large tasks, Thorgil was made a slave boy. His duties were to care for the livestock belonging to his owner, and keeping the stables, armor and weaponry prepared for usage. All he had to bathe with was an old rag and small amounts of water he pulled from the well that he was allowed to keep for himself. He hardly had anything to eat, was kept in shackles so he couldn’t escape, and was forced to sleep in an old, small shed that was hardly fit for living in.

Once he reached adolescence his master decided to make some money off of him and threw him into an arena, forced to fight beats and even other slaves for the town’s entertainment. It was then that he learned how to fight, and even how to kill. He grew stronger physically and emotionally over the years. If he lost a fight, he’d receive a beating. But if he won, he’d be treated like a guest, given a fine meal with wine, and even offered girls for entertainment only for the night, all of which he turned down.

All he wishes for now is freedom, and to make the Lord of the Land pay for his cruelty.

Lineage

There was once an elf man who was born during a chaotic era, known as the Dragons’ Era. Upon birth, he was blessed by the fairy Queen, gifting him purity beyond compare and the magic of the earth and nature around him, while turning his hair white as snow and skin pale as the finest pearl. Later in his life as an adult, he set off to find a way to defeat the evil dragon that claimed reign on the land, the dark dragon that ruled over all other dragons, creatures, and people. He sought out another dragon, one of legend that once ruled over the dragons long ago until he vanished in the mountains. But once the man found the dragon, he refused to aid the man in defeating the evil dragon and bringing the chaotic era to an end. He had grown far too old and weak to fight, for the dragon had lived for thousands of years.

Instead, he shared his blood with the man, magical, powerful dragon blood. This turned the man’s eyes to that of a dragon, red, fiery with slim, reptilian pupils. With his gift from the fairy Queen and the blood of a dragon King, the man took up a sword and bow and fought the evil dragon, defeating him and sealing him away in a prison held shut by powerful magic.

The chaos had ended, and the era of the dragons as well. People of the land celebrated, labeling the man as their King for being their savior. But they weren’t the only ones. The dragons too made him their King due to the dragons blood within him. This blood allowed him to command any and all dragons, bending them to his will, while the fairy’s magic allowed him to control and protect the earth and all the life that’s on it.

Eventually the man married and bore two sons. One was born with the fairy’s blessing, while the other had the dragon’s blood. The two later built Kingdoms of their own as neighbors, the one with the blood of the dragon becoming the Dragon King, while the other became the King of Druids, who specialize in nature magic, healing magic, and are the purest of all races.

The Druid King’s bloodline carried the snowy hair, fine skin, and the fairy’s blessing, while the Dragon King carried the dragon’s blood within his line, beastly eyes and fiery hair. The Druid King’s line quickly came to be known as Willōnites, the race with the fairy’s blessing. And the Dragon King’s line became known as Hollōnites, the race with the power of a dragon.
