Lady Aigumo, though she often goes by more feminine and younger-sounding names, is an
aranea / Jorogumo. Her names usually translate into spider mistress or lady spider, though she may opt for simple and youthful names with no meaning behind them at times.
She is 1m67, is a surprising 180kg but looks slender like a 55kg lady. As an aranea she only has one humanoid form of appearance, but this appearance can change a bit to appear like a caucasian, asian, black, muslim or elven woman. Each of these appearances are beautiful and fit the sub-race's beauty standards, but she can still be recognised when appearing as another race. In all cases, she has long straight black hair that flows like silk, brown eyes, very soft and smooth skin and elegant smooth features.
She can take her
spider form, and a form in between human and spider. The former is a large black spider with yellow stripes on its feet that looks like a golden orb weaver spider, with the size height-wise of a donkey. The front two feet are arms though, with many-jointed fingers and double-jointed thumbs. This form is a lot more docile, sluggish and uncaring, but also a more aggressive towards humans. The hybrid form can be any combination of many forms, including the
drider and
this one. Usually her form includes the following or can only incorporate one feat without the following:
-Her jaw snaps apart at the chin and allows her whole mouth to open to the sides.
-Her tongue grows more yellow-green and longer, into a stinger that can secrete a paralysing poison into any victim within 20cm of her mouth.
-Her hands grow spider claws and chitin, which also forms protective gauntlets around her wrists.
-Her feet grow spider claws and chitin that form leg braces. Her toes can also form tarsi that can accurately and nimbly operate anything as if they were human hands or spider feet.
-Her tights can form spinnerets capable of producing silk, her feet can grow more flexible to easily reach these spinnerets with her toes to spin silk from.
-Her body can grow chitin like a protective harness, obscured by her clothes.
-She can develop up to six more eyes on her forehead, which hvae darkvision where her two normal-looking eyes lack this.
Origins:Born during the strange event of a
thousand phantasms as a spirit still bound to the material plane, she is neither alive nor a ghost. She was a spider who lived for four hundred years and finally reached her 400th birthday during this event, thus passing on to the next life as a magical humanoid spider. But because the barriers between the spirit realm and the material plane were torn down, she never left her physical body and thus never died. After the event ended, Lady Aigumo found herself still in the world of the living where all other spirits were sucked back to where they belonged.
So, while she is technically 400 years old, as a sentient being she is barely a year old. She's certainly not underaged though, in body nor in mind. Appearing as a very attractive lady in her mid-twenties with a flirtatious smile on her lips and her skin often exposed just enough to allure without being inappropriate, Lady Aigumo is often found flirting with attractive young men or doing dainty things.
Even though she will be alluring and looking dainty while doing things, she tends to work or practice seriously when she engages in her hobbies. These activities include:
-Playing the lute or harp: This can be a regular Biwa, her lyrebow or her skyshard violin. The lyrebow can also work as a sudden weapon, to turn a playful tune into a sudden rain of arrows. Her violin, played with the instrument resting on the ground in the traditional asian way, is used to control the mood of a room or person.
-Tidying up houses and decorating rooms. Usually abandoned houses that she's technically squatting in, or the houses from strangely absent young bachelors.
-Play with incredibly fluffy and cute pets that move and climb in very strange ways. (They look like puppies and kittens, but are actually spiders with illusion disguises.)
-Weaving clothes, charms and pendants from silk. One never sees her make this silk however, that always happens behind closed doors.
When she fights, lady Aigumo usually relies not on raw strength and her spider armour, but on deception and illusions. In fact she prefers to avoid combat altogether and will often flee if she cannot win with ease. If absolutely needed, she will do so either with her lyrebow or in her spider form.
As an aranea, she is naturally gifted at illusions, enchantments and charming magic. With her natural charm and her magical enhancement of these charms, she can usually separate her prey from the group and lure them in for a kiss. Similarly, her illusions can lure and deceive any wary party into a trap and isolate them one by one. Before they'd know it, her stinger would pierce them and fill their veins with paralysing poison. This strategy usually incorporates an ambush of her spider webs, which she weaves to ensnare her prey with or block off all exits.
If she is forced to fight, she will usually pick her spider form and use the many small but enhanced spiders that follow her around or crawl under her clothes to help her. These spiders are often simple spiders with various poisons, but she can also have rat-sized spiders that can spit fire, have wraith powers, have sword-legs or can phase onto their targets. Once the oportunity presents itself, she'll quickly move away.
