I used to write for this character a long time ago. I came to the realization that I really liked this character and would like to keep writing for him. Hopefully you'll help me continue to do so!

All About Fenriz Tel'vanya Hallowthorne

Name: Fenriz Tel'vanya Hallowthorne (Nickname Fen)

Appearance: In some ways, Fenriz looks like any other child his age. He's stands at an average height for someone his age, weighs about the same as others his age, and boasts a childlike, small, round face like others his age.

This, however, is where the similarities stop. He has messy, snow white hair that stops just shy of his shoulders. His eyes are a crimson red, and seem to glow slightly in a low light. His skin is an unnaturally pale tone, leading many to assume that he's incredibly ill. And finally he has small, but incredibly sharp fangs that are easily noticeable to someone who might be looking as he speaks. All of these are a byproduct of his vampire transformation. Before his hair was a chestnut brown, and his eyes an emerald green color. He also bears the crest of his "adopted" family, a serpent tattooed on his upper arm. His clothing usually hides it, but most vampire hunters would recognize it if they saw.

In most cases, Fenriz is adorned in a white, long sleeved tunic (which he occasionally rolls up, depending on the temperature), simple black pants that are a little bit too long for him, and simple, leather boots. The most striking thing about his clothing is a hooded black cloak with a gold lining, that he stole from a sleeping adventurer in his travels. The edge is roughly cut, where Fen severed the excess with a dagger (that he also stole).

History: The Hallowthorne vampire clan had existed for several years, but in their time, hadn't done much more than exactly that. Exist. While they often talked about their day of glory, it wasn't coming as quickly as the wed leaders of the clan, Mr. Varo'thori and Mrs.Jenma'tai Hallowthorne would like. One day, fed up with their lack of status, they consulted an ancient and powerful necromancer. He promised them untold power, and mastery of the dark arts, however in exchange, they would offer him all the souls he desired. They agreed, and almost overnight, the Hallowthorne clan went from nothing of note, to one of the most feared clans by man and vampire alike. It was during this time, that the leaders of the Hallowthorne clan decided to birth an heir. However, they quickly realized that their newly obtained power had a price. The necromancer's debt was to be paid with the souls of any children they had. No more than hours after their child had been born, the necromancer, through dark magic, stole the child away from its home, legacy, and parents, who of course were not pleased.

Varo'thori and Jenma'tai rallied the entire Hallowthorne clan to a raid on the necromancer's home, intent on using the power that they had been granted against the source, to rescue the child that had been stolen from them. Unknown to them, the power the necromancer had offered them, was only a fraction of his own. With minimal effort,the necromancer annihilated the majority of the Hallowthorne clan, with only the patriarchs surviving.

They would retreat to their home, only to find it in ashes, having been lit ablaze by vampire hunters looking to do what the necromancer had done only hours before. As quickly as they had come to power, the Hallowthorne's lost everything. They went into hiding, determined to rebuild, but they realized that any future the clan had couldn't lie with any biological children, and so they would bring another into the fold.

In their ceaseless retreat from vampire hunters, looking to finish the job, they stumbled across an unassuming hut, in which lived a simple farmer, Odacryn, his eldest daughter, and his newly born son. Seeing an opportunity, the two raided the home, eyes initially set on the older daughter. Odacryn, while he was no match for the vampires, provided enough of an opportunity for his daughter to get away, though unfortunately for him could not provide protection for his son. With dying eyes, he witnessed two vampires absconding with his youngest child.

The remaining members of the Hallowthorne clan rebranded the child Fenriz Tel'vanya Hallowthorne and raised him with all the love and care that they might have any biological child, were they presented the opportunity. They trained him to avoid sunlight, and in the art of stealth, teaching him the ways of a vampire, though naturally sparing him the more gruesome details until he became older. On the day he turned 10 (or at least 10 years after he had come into their company), they chose to finally turn him. They marked him with the Hallowthorne crest, a serpent on him upper arm, and transformed the young boy into one of their own.

After a few days of agony mixed with drifting in and out of consciousness, Fenriz reemerged as a fully fledged vampire. Unfortunately for him, this was the day that vampire hunters had finally tracked down him and him parents. Though delirious, he followed his parents hastily given instructions to flee. After a few days, he would attempt to retrace his steps back to where he separated from his parents, but upon returning to where he believed they were, he found nothing, thus beginning his still continuing search for his parents.

Having never been told the entire nature of his new existence, he wouldn't feed for days. After unintentionally ignoring the hunger for so long, his natural instinct would take over. Exactly what happened is even now unclear to him, but when he came to his senses, he found himself in an unrecognized home, with the corpses of an unrecognized family, mangled and bloodied at his feet. Horrified, he fled the scene before anyone showed up.

Fen wouldn't make it far, before being stopped by another, fellow vampire who had been stalking the family that he had slaughtered. She explained to him the pieces of his existence that his parents had failed to, and would teach him how to satisfy his hunger in less gruesome fashion. She would stay with him for merely a few days, before disappearing, once more leaving him alone.

Now he continues to wander, coming to terms with his vampire blood, attempting to find his parents.

Personality: Over time, Fen has become incredibly distrustful of other people, due to the wide variety of people that don't like what he has been turned in to. Despite this, he is a kind soul, and is more likely to attempt to help someone than not. Though a vampire, he is still, a child, and much like children his age, he is fairly naive, and is easily tricked. His natural childlike curiosity is constantly at odds with his built in cautious nature, and although it isn't often, his curiosity might get the better of him, putting him in a difficult or dangerous situation. Though difficult, anyone who does manage to gain his trust will find that he can be quite talkative, surprising to his usually quiet nature.

Abilities and weaknesses: As a young, relatively recently turned vampire, he doesn't boast many of the abilities that older members of his kind possess. Over time, as he learns more about his new race and what they are capable of, he gains access to more abilities. For now, he's capable of seeing in a low light, and his small size allows him a decent degree of stealth. He can hear slightly better than the average person, and is also capable of smelling blood, even from an incredible distance from the source, although he hasn't gotten accustomed to the scent, and rather hates it.

Recently, his abilities have begun to manifest themselves. Through his travels Fenriz has learned he possess the ability to control shadows, and even become shadow-like himself. Through the use of these abilities, he is capable of manipulating the shadows into weapons, such as dark blades that he can hurl at an opponent (or wield, although he has no formal sword training), or as tendrils that he can use to potentially immobilize a target. He can manipulate and move shadows at will, independent of the movement of the being creating it. He can also mold the shadows into tangible puppets that take the shape of whatever he imagines, and are his to command. Lastly, with his ability to meld into the shadows themselves, he can use this as a form of stealth, becoming invisible to those who can't sense his presence. If a second source of shadow is near enough, he is capable of of moving between them, almost appearing to teleport. Although he is able to command the shadows, when these powers aren't actively in use the shadows begin to take a mind of their own around him. They mostly serve to protect him from harm, often lashing out at entities that Fenriz perceives as a threat, although they seem to have somewhat of a mischievous, child-like side to them. Typically this side shows itself in the way of small pranks, knocking things over, very temporarily blinding people, tripping them, that sort of thing.

Previously only available to him while feral, he has recently gained the ability to sense the auras of other, living creatures around him. When this power is active, his eyes begin to glow significantly brighter than normal. Unfortunately, for at present this ability requires a great deal of concentration on the young vampire's part, and quickly drains him the longer it is in use. He would likely only be able to maintain it for a few hours before either succumbing to his feral side.

His other ability is the ability to raise the dead. Unlike his shadowmancy, this still seems to beyond his control, and when he passes through areas with high amount of dead, his presence is prone to bring them back to life. He currently lacks the ability to control this in any shape or form, and the temperament of the corpses raised typically tends to depend on who they were in life. The corpses are equally prone to protecting the young vampire as much as attack him.

Active use of any of his ability causes him to have to feed more frequently to prevent becoming feral. Though it is far less taxing when either of them activate on their own.

Like other vampires, he suffers from a weakness to sunlight, as well as his need for blood. If Fen does not feed for a couple of days, he slowly starts to lose control of his senses. For him, the feeling is similar to not sleeping for several days. He also slowly begins to lose access to his vampiric abilities. If allowed to starve for too long, Fenriz's vampire instincts take over, causing him to lose control of his body until this lack of blood is rectified. This version of Fenriz is primal, incapable of speech, reasoning, or restraint, and poses a significant risk to both himself and anyone he may happen to come across. This Fenriz is much faster and physically stronger than his non-feral counterpart.

Though shade and clothing can mitigate his weakness to sunlight a bit, it is ultimately unsafe for him to be outside during the daylight. Whereas normal people would feel warmth from the sunlight, for Fenriz it feels as if he was standing directly in a fire itself, rendering him barely capable of doing much of anything. While the exact length depends on how much sunlight he is directly exposed to, he likely wouldn't last longer than a couple of hours before perishing. Even if he is capable of getting out of the sun before meeting such a fate, it would take a great deal of time before he was fully recovered.

Liddell Hobby Horse: A mace in the shape of a hobby horse. This weapon is incredibly odd. Crafted for one Miss Liddell, these hobby horses neigh whenever you swing or hit someone with it. The pointed horn is crafted from hard steel. The mane is razor sharp. The tipped weight makes it an excellent object for swinging. It’s eyes are almost alive as the thrill of battle makes its eyes glow.
Not even the four horsemen have the strength against this horse. NEIGH!
