Theme: MagiaAppearance and Personality:With the natural beauty and talents Rosenites are blessed with, Nerine is no exception. Flaxen hair frames her face in wavy locks reaching just past her chin, and her eyes are aquamarine without the typical red ring around the pupils Rosenites are known for. Her hair used to reach down past her shoulders, but following the painful end to a relationship that should have bloomed into something much more, she chose to shorten it to cut ties with the past. Nerine stands at 5 feet and six inches, with sun-kissed skin and an average feminine build.
With a bold and independent spirit, she lives her life to the fullest and with as few regrets as she can. Level-headed with an innate curiosity towards the natural world, Nerine is not the type to passively stand by. She is neither brash nor mild, but temperate. As a Rosenite, she doesn't take discrimination and being patronized lightly and will stand up for others as well as herself. Though she doesn't mind having help, she's willing to do things on her own. She takes her work and relationships seriously, and believes others should do the same. Nerine bears the mark of Antikythera on the back of her right hand, which is normally invisible.
History:A scholar of Arri's Auzial Academy who later went to study overseas in Iria, most of her life revolved around her work and studies. Being born as a Rosenite in the desert nation, being a herbalist with an affinity towards the elements came naturally to her. In her time as a student she stayed devoted to her coursework, but eventually became close to one of her upperclassmen who was studying in a different area. When she was accepted as a student in Iria's mage academy, they had already been dating for a few years. Though it was difficult to maintain a long-distance relationship, Nerine did everything she could on her part. They exchanged letters frequently, and although she enjoyed her time in Parvpora she couldn't wait to return home to see him. Unfortunately, though her feelings never changed despite being away from him for so long the same could not be said for her lover.
She returned to Sularia only to find he had already moved on without even telling her. While most Rosenites would've wrung an apology from their unfaithful lover's body, this came as a complete surprise. The shock was too great, and she fell into deep depression. Family and friends could not console her, and no matter how they tried to help her move on she wouldn't hear it. The pain of his betrayal ran too deep for her to fight to take him back. Eventually she chose to do the unthinkable–to commit Eshari. Working in secret, as an herbalist creating the poison was simple. But before she could take the vial, someone else came knocking on her door. As luck would have it, Luck herself was passing by. The two struck a deal where the deity would grant her wish in exchange for what she held most dear to her. In Nerine's case, it was the memories she had of the man who broke her heart and threw away the love they had nurtured in those years.
With time the old wounds healed and she met the man whom she would call her husband. The vampire lord was distant, cold, and intimidating at first. Having been taken into the Overseer of Luck's ranks partially against his will left him with a poor disposition. Never would the thought of choosing him as a partner have crossed her mind. The chance to reconsider came in an unexpected arrangement by Shiloh herself, volunteering both of them to study under the famed Red Queen and goddess of life. It was a very intense training session–the Mother gave them no exceptions when it came to practice and learning. Their initial feelings before the training began couldn't be more different. Nerine felt honored to be personally trained by one whom she admired and looked up to as a child, but Sylvain was all too willing to have it end. As they spent more time together, they grew closer and were no longer strangers. The lord being centuries older always seemed to see her as a fledgling, keeping a slight distance despite knowing each other. They were at most, just friends.
When the crisis involving the Kougetsu clan started, she and Sylvain were assigned to investigate for leads in the city of Abed. There they encountered a powerful member of the Kujishoku ghouls who trapped the lord under his spell. With her mastery of the elements and a little luck, Nerine was able to free her companion from his thrall and gather important information on the clan's hierarchy. From then on, both the scholar and lord began to see each other in a new light. They were married in the Chapel of Antikythera, and soon they had their first child. Within the years their family grew to two sons and a daughter. Though it the journey may not have been easy, she wouldn't give up the life she has now for anything in the world.
