Appearance and Personality: Statuesque at 6'2" with steel grey eyes, pinnate ears, and long hair black as night; Lord Albaret bears both the visage and air of a member of the noblesse. His appearance has not changed since he was turned in his twenties, and has the build of an experienced swordsman. Reserved, somber, and unfailingly polite he upholds the belief that nobility is shown through one's acts; not inherited by blood. Once a proud man who held those inferior to his station with disdain, he has learned there is no shame in bending one's knee to another. He is still adjusting to his rather forceful and sudden recruitment into the Ruler of Onslaught's fold, but as a vampire he will have more than enough time to acclimate. Sylvain bears the mark of Antikythera on the left side of his neck, which is normally invisible.
History:Born into a noble house in Adeluna, the young lord was a knight who dedicated his life to serving the common folk. A member of a benevolent religious order, he was dispatched into the countryside to investigate a string of murders surrounding a rural town. A newly initiated priest had recently gone missing, and with the assistance of one of the older friars he tracked down the missing acolyte at an old manor in the neighboring town. There he and the friar discovered a female vampire by the name of Clarimonde who had been feeding on the local populace under the guise of a courtesan. The two fought fiercely against her, and before daybreak the vampire was slain. However the acolyte was too far gone, and perished from severe blood loss. The friar who had fought with Sylvain was gravely injured, and passed away after asking the knight to bring carry both of them back to be buried at the monastery. He promised to do what the good man had requested of him, but unfortunately he did not leave that battle unscathed. Clarimonde had managed to successfully turn him, and within a fortnight the lord had become a creature of the night.
When his transformation took hold, he became consumed by a newfound bloodlust and soon left the order behind before he was discovered. He crossed the seas to Kurayo and established himself in a new estate as one of the many lords of the night. There he spent the next centuries as a member of the vampire aristocracy. His fate changed again when he came upon an unusual individual out on a midnight stroll. The lingering scent of power caught his attention, but he waited and resisted his initial bloodlust. A few days later that very same individual came to his doorstep, following the trail of a man whom his servants had caught for him days earlier. Unwilling to let such an opportunity slip from his grasp, he used various means to prevent them from leaving. Determined to leave, the person made a wager: if he could manage to land a blow on them, then he could have their neck–but should he fail, then they would take his.
He agreed, confident that he would succeed; only to find himself unable to even graze their skin. Enraged, he attempted to take their blood by force. The stranger resisted him, and discovering that he was at a disadvantage the lord fled. Intent on having him hold up his end of the bargain, the hunted became the hunter and proceeded to chase him down through the halls of his own home. Cornered at last, the deity took hold of him and burned their mark into his flesh.
Talents and Abilities:His former life as a cruel and ruthless warrior has given him great combat prowess and keen instincts, making him a formidable fighter on the battlefield. His service under the Overseer of Luck and Misfortune has dulled his bloodlust in both aspects upon being given the deity's mark, in exchange for a reduction of his weaknesses.
